My daughter and I shared a Jumbo sized poutine with Vegetarian gravy and extra cheese curds. Mmm...so good. Golden, crispy fries. Rich, flavourful gravy, and those cheese curds. Those ooey, gooey, stretchy cheese curds. I loved how the poutine was piping hot, and stayed piping hot for a long time. Last time we ordered from here, we had parked right outside the shop so it was just a few steps to our car, and then we were able to eat our poutine in the car right away. This time we had to walk several blocks to get back to our car before we could finally start eating. It was a cooler day, so it was cool inside the car...but our poutine stayed hot almost right down to the very last fry. My daughter's a meat eater but she loved the Vegetarian gravy. Hats off to this restaurant for making a Vegetarian gravy that my meat eating child loves. Husband had to admit too, that it smelled really good! They have Vegan option as well. Inside the shop there are seats and tables where you can sit and eat your food. When we were there however, every single seat and table was occupied already. It's evidently a popular place and given how heavenly their poutine is, it's not hard to see why they're popular! Service: Good Parking: Street Parking around Davie St. @ Granville Location: Downtown Vancouver

Delicious! The gravy, cheese curds, and fries were so good! Plus the smoked meats were a must have with this poutine. We also ordered the garlic lovers drip which was an awesome pairing with the poutine. It's a fairly small space so it's definitely a takeaway kind of place. They have a huge variety of options that will definitely fit the needs of everyone that stops in. They have 5 different size options. We went with the medium which was a perfect size for the two of us and definitely hit the spot. The only downside I can say would be that it may be a little difficult to eat from the containers they provide since they pile it as high as possible. So definitely don't let this small point deter you from stopping in and trying some awesome poutine combinations. I would definitely recommend coming to this spot anytime of the day but especially after some drinks and you need a good comfort food you can walk around with to the next bar and share with your friends along the way. I'm definitely interested in going back to try some of the other options they have to offer.

I'm updating this as I've been coming here for years when I visit Vancouver. This is one of the best places that continues to deliver consistently in taste and flavor. Poutine is always made fresh to order. I love this place! Amazing poutine for the price and quality. It was quite busy for an afternoon and very tiny. There are no tables, just a few benches for 8 people to sit and snack. I ordered a regular large poutine. The portions are very large and toppings are generously layered in the middle and top of the cup. The gravy is Rich and tasty. The cheese curds are soft and tender, breaking down easily with the hot and crispy fries and gravy. The fries are fried to perfection allowing it to be crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It's perfect that it just soaks up the gravy.

This place was recommended to me by a bartender at Copper Penny Distillery (check them out as well). I was asking him about poutine and where to get a good Canadian style poutine. Fritz was the name that he gave me. Even though it's just fries, cheese, and gravy, holy sweet Jesus is it delicious. The gravy is salty, the cheese curds tones down the saltiness, the crispness of the fries helps give the cheese some coarse texture. Then there's the bite of satisfactory complexity between all the ingredients.

Over time, the fluffy/crunchy of the fries, mixed with the gooey cheese that's been saturated by the gravy which also coincidentally accelerates the melting process of the cheese just becomes this incredible bite of: salty, airy, crispy, cheesy mosh pit of deliciousness that is stomping all over your flippin taste buds. It's insanely good considering how simple it is.

Don't make the same mistake I did though. I was so busy looking forward to the poutine that I completely absent mindedly didn't even look at the dipping sauces. It wasn't until I was about four bites into my poutine that I literally looked up and saw the sauces looking back at me and while looking at them I said, "ohh whaaat??" I was very upset with myself. Fortunately the guy at the counter gave me a bite of each sample. If I had to choose, I think I would go with the British version (?). But in retrospect, I'm perfectly fine with how they were served. Inexpensive and...

Used to be amazing. The original (or at least recent owner for the past 10yrs) was amazing. He remembered EVERYONE’s order, most ppl’s names, took care of all the frequent late-night Granville (and Yaletown) workers without question: he even took the time to remember personal details and ask you about your life. What a beautiful, dedicated family business. ...UNTIL new ownership took over right before the pandemic. Horrible customer service. Inaccurate opening hours (advertised). Incapable of performing the most basic of duties to replicate the formerly famous local poutine... the fries are less fresh & crispy, the gravy (both veg. & non-veg is sub par, the cheese is forgettable ...since when has anyone even had to say that!!!) [New] Ownership seems to only care about saving a buck here & there by employing careless staff. And before any of you jump on anything, this was WAY before the pandemic. (Currently I’ve been on hold with them for 19mins 31 seconds from a pick-up order I tried to place...) I understand they have difficult “late night” guests to deal with off Granville, but the former owners seemed to handle things with much more grace & professionalism than I can ever hope to experience from the now current joint.

So sad. We used to have such a great small business thing going on Davie St...

I caution you all to remain skeptical before you experience the “new Fritz” in-person a...

I would give zero stars if I could. Their debit machine was malfunctioning one day and I got triple charged on my card. I even ran next door and had to pull out cash to pay for my order because the machine said the transactions weren’t going through. I come to find out later that the money was indeed taken out of my account for a total of over $40 (3 spectate charges for the exact same amount). After numerous times returning to the restaurant to resolve this issue (trying to track down the person in charge etc) they said it was a problem with my bank and to talk to them. After wasting even more time and going to my bank (waiting in long lines during Covid etc) the bank manager said that the restaurant did receive the money and that it was their responsibility to refund me, which to this day has still not happened. Before this incident I was a very loyal customer at this location, frequenting the establishment at least once a week. Now, I will never go back. They wasted so much of my time that I will never get back and I had to over-pay $60 for a poutine, when everything was said and done. All because of their mistakes which they never even tried to fix or rectify. I got scammed and cheated out of my hard earned money. Terrible customer service and business practices. Thanks...
