Another Saturday Night hockey game, but oh what a night. This place is amazing to eat at pregame. Before heading to the highly anticipated Edmonton vs. Vancouver game, we decided to fuel up at the Sports Bar at Rogers, and what a great choice it turned out to be! From start to finish, the experience was top-notch.
The service was nothing short of outstanding. Our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy taking care of us. Maybe "Christina" but she was really good! Despite the pre-game rush, she was prompt, knowledgeable about the menu, and made sure we had everything we needed to make our dining experience stress-free. I suggest the Nacho's if you are in a rush as they came out quickly.
We kicked things off with a selection of appetizers, and they did not disappoint. The crispy calamari was perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of crunch and paired beautifully with a tangy dipping sauce. The nachos, piled high with cheese, guacamole, and salsa, were an absolute crowd-pleaser. Every bite was packed with flavor!
For mains, we opted for a mix of burgers and sandwiches. The gourmet burgers were cooked to perfection, with juicy patties and fresh, high-quality toppings. The truffle fries that came with the burger were crispy and indulgent, a perfect complement to the meal. The Beef Dip sandwich was another standout—tender, flavorful roast beef on a soft, toasted bun, served with a savory au jus that took every bite to the next level!
The portions were generous, and the flavors were spot on—comfort food with a refined touch.
Dessert To finish off the meal, we indulged in the Apple Crisp, and it was the perfect way to cap off our pre-game feast. The warm, cinnamon-spiced apples combined with a buttery, crumbly topping were pure comfort in a bowl. Paired with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, it was the ideal sweet ending to a savory meal.
It's a great place to get jacked up for the game. The Sports Bar had the perfect vibe for pre-game excitement. The big screens were tuned into all the live action, and the energetic crowd added to the atmosphere without ever feeling overwhelming. It was a great spot to mingle, enjoy great food, and get in the spirit before the game.
Overall Whether you're a die-hard sports fan or just looking for a great meal in a lively setting, the Sports Bar at Rogers is a fantastic option. Exceptional service, mouth-watering food, and a fun, energetic atmosphere make it a must-visit spot before the game - it's only open game nights and our bill while a bit pricey was reasonable for the quality of food. Can't wait to come back! If I could only afford...
Read moreThis place is notoriously difficult to get a reservation at, but after our visit, I’m not quite sure why. When we arrived, the restaurant was mostly empty, with only a few tables occupied. The host who seated us didn’t seem very happy, but thankfully our server was friendly and service-oriented. We were seated at a corner booth in the back, which made it difficult to flag down service.
If you’re looking for great food, I would recommend skipping this place. Here’s what we ordered:
Calamari Appetizer – It was just okay, nothing worth getting excited about. Cheeseburger with Caesar Salad – The burger patty was dry and flavorless. The romaine lettuce in the Caesar salad wasn’t fresh, and they drowned it in so much dressing that it was goopy. Two Steak Frites – When our orders arrived, the fries were old and cold. We flagged our server, who kindly offered to bring us fresh batches. However, the replacements—served on skillets to appear "fresh and hot"—were actually the same old, cold fries. As for the steaks, we ordered them medium rare, but they were closer to medium well. While not ideal, we didn’t feel it was worth complaining about. Unfortunately, both the steaks and fries were also extremely salty — we felt like we needed to drink a gallon of water afterward. When the server checked back, we let her know that the replacement fries were no better and that we didn’t need any more. She took the fries away and informed her manager, who promptly came by to apologize and kindly removed the calamari from our bill, which we appreciated.
On top of everything, the menu is quite expensive, and given the poor food quality, it really doesn't feel like good value.
Overall, despite the good service from our server and manager, I wouldn’t return based on the quality...
Read moreCame here before the Canucks game the other night. Made reservations and were seated promptly.
The Caesars were great, very tasty, but for $18 they better be. Ordered some wings to start and they were delicious, would definitely order them again. But from then on everything went down hill, including the service. Had a burger (the Canuck) for dinner… looked amazing, but looks are deceiving… the burger was extremely dry. No moisture / juice from my burger at all… I mean ZERO juices or any kind of moisture other than the ones coming from the condiments. Thank goodness for my water. The fries that came with it were limp and flaccid, either old or sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. My other half had fish and chips, the fish was good but had the same experience with the “chips”.
Staff are very hard to get the attention of, had to flag our server down to get another cocktail. (Missing sales right there) We sat with dirty plates and empty glasses in front of us for over 20 minutes. We would have gladly ordered another cocktail or beer had the waitress come by and asked. No acknowledgment whatsoever. When I finally got her attention, I needed the bill as we had to get to our seats.
The music is WAY too loud, even for a sports bar! I should not have to scream… and I mean SCREAM, at my company just to be able to talk to them. I have been to many a bar in my time and the music here was more like nightclub volume rather than a bar.
For the price you pay, it is way overrated for what you get. Save yourself some money and dine elsewhere before a...
