Midtown Bistro — Restaurant in Vernon

This place is slept on. I mean not really because it has such high ratings and so many reviews. But it's a restaurant I found valuable.

I definitely feel like they deserve a 5/5.

Their service is friendly and prompt. They offer takeout and dine in services. I found it very convenient to order by text.

You can pay by e transfer, credit, debit or cash.

Their food is amazing in that it's well made and carefully created. They don't overload..their small menu reflects their commitment to serving quality dishes.

Caper chicken is fantastic. The vegetables were well seared, buttered and salted. Chicken breast was juicy. Mash potatoes mild and not over salted. The sauce had little tomatoes and capers in it. The picture I took doesn't show the tomatoes because they were still in the sauce cup.

Hot beef sandwich was good. I liked the caramelized onions! The beef was a bit too salty for my taste.

Pear and goat cheese salad was yummy. I liked the sauce and slices of fig.

Everything came together well. I would recommend this place and/or come back when I'm in town.

My husband decided to take me out on Valentine's Day for a late lunch. So we drove to Vernon for something different. He checked Google and Yelp for the best ratings on restaurants we hadn't been to yet. We choose Midtown Bistro. Sadly, when we got there at 2, we went inside and were told that they were closing early to prepare for Valentine's dinner that evening. We had said we drive from out of town but we'd try it again another time. She then said, why don't you just stay and have a nice lunch.

So we did! It was wonderful! I had the today beef sandwich with mac n cheese. It's was incredible! The very slow roasted beef melts in your mouth and is so flavorful! My hubby had the Sausage Supreme Serpentini. It was very good as well. We were stuffed when we were done! Then she talked is into the amazing chocolate cake!! The cake that she only makes one of, so if you aren't in early enough for these yummy cakes, you're out of luck!

The staff are superb! The food wonderful! Dessert, very very good!

When you walk into this bistro you are greeted by a welcoming smile and beautiful art work on the walls. The menu showcases gluten free options and Canadian produce and products to chose from. Jada willingly guides you through the choices to make sure you are perfectly satisfied. I ordered the Thai praws dinner and an extremely large pour of SANDHILL prio gris. On plate were more than a half dozen large perfectly cooked praws covered with a sauce that didn't overwhelm the seafood, accompanied by a bed of mixed cooked vegetables, flavored jasmine rice and a very large side salad covered with more vegetables. And a side of coleslaw which was delicious! The portion size was very generous and I took the salad home. The guests picking up food and sitting at the tables were very complimentary of the service and food, also! This is a gem of a restaurant on 30th in downtown Vernon.
