Castello Coffee — Restaurant in Victoria

Blink and you'll miss it, but this place is great.

The service is prompt, very friendly, and every time I come in here they make it clear they give a damn. Not just to me, to the other customers I see them serve as well.

The food is good, I rather like their breakfast options.

I also think they make a great mocha and hot chocolate. He warns you it's hot every time and it is HOT. I love it to-go, you can walk a ways and you'll still have a warm beverage by the end of your march.

The shop is nice, couple levels, plenty of seating. Fairly quiet atmosphere. Lots of windows and light.

But the standout is the service. Very nice...

I’ve been getting takeout coffee here nearly every morning since I started working downtown. They open at 6:30, but were kind enough to take my order at 6:15 such great service! I grabbed a coffee and the English Breakfast Muffin (aka EBM), and it was way tastier than anything you’d get at a fast food spot. The cakes and pastries are also very good, and I believe they’re made in-house, which makes them extra special. The prices are exceptionally reasonable too. The people here are extremely kind, to EVERYONE. I think this matters and they deserve to be praised for this. I have watched on many occasions where some less fortunate souls have arrived (obviously homeless, carrying extra chattel or pushing a shopping cart,) and they are treated with the same respect as anyone else. And this is how it should be but, I don’t see this other places.
