Good Earth Coffeehouse - Westside — Restaurant in West Jasper Place

I had such a disappointing experience at Good Earth Coffeehouse West Edmonton today. After driving by and noticing they are open, I was SO excited to go that I moved the coffee date I was on my way to, to meet at Good Earth instead. I have missed this chain in Edmonton since the Southside location closed down and it's always a treat to visit when I go to Canmore. Right from walking in, it wasn't clear where to line up.There were a few people milling around in front of the till and when I asked where the line starts I was directed to the other side of the cafe, with the rest of the people hurriedly getting into a line. Confusing. While waiting to order, I noticed an ad for the rewards program so I quickly downloaded the app before it was my turn to be served. Staff were super friendly and nice, I ordered a turmeric latte with Almond milk but they were out of turmeric. Settled on a plain almond milk latte, mediterranean panini and cinnamon bun. I paid then asked about the app/rewards and was told I needed to mention it before the transaction and there was nothing they could do now. Yet they didn't ask before paying if I was collecting rewards? How is a customer supposed to know...

The drink pick-up process was a bit scattered, with some orders being placed on the space where I assumed one would pick up their drink, and others placed on the ordering counter directly next to the till.

Prices are reasonable and the food was good but I couldn't really have been more disappointed in the experience overall. I wouldn't recommend this location in the future and if friends suggest to meet there for coffee, I would likely opt for Spinellis down the road instead....

Was at Chapters on Saturday and decided to grab a coffee from here instead of Second Cup or Starbucks. I feel like I should spread my money around a bit more for different coffee shops. Ordered a large lavender latte. I have to say that the flavor is more pleasant at Good Earth than at other places.

On Sunday I had to return a book and wanted to support them again. This time I was there with my child. I ordered a large hot white chocolate mocha with strawberry rose flavor. I like my coffee strong and found it a bit sweet. If I order it again, I will add an extra espresso shot. My child ordered the same drink but cold. It was good but my hot drink was preferred. :)

Most awesome thing? I downloaded the app and one of the drinks were free!

Went there for the first time yesterday and ordered the jasmine honey latte and it was delicious! Prices are about on par for starbucks/local coffeehouses. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lots of baked goods from their St Albert location, but I didn't try any today. It has a nice aesthetic and who can resist a bookshop? Grateful to have somewhere in the area to get a solid coffee!!
