Reservations were difficult to get on the same day and had to opt for a wait list but was pleasantly surprised by getting a text very close to dinner time. Ordered the 4 course fixed price menu in October. Atmosphere was nice and cozy. Sat at the bar. Service took a bit to start but was excellent once started. Ordered the wine pairing and was delighted with each pairing choice. It was sophisticated and really brought out the flavors in each dish. The starter was a sweet potato and carrot soup which was delicious just the right amount of sweet and savoury and had started with a sparkling white wine. It was served with bread and a dish of melted butter. The bread was a thick sliced and contained a marinated mushroom or olive was interesting and tasty. The second course I chose was tuna poke. It was absolutely amazing. Some of the best tuna I have experienced, very fresh seared to perfection and had a very nice base. For my main I had the Sablefish (tonight was a seafood adventure after all) the Sablefish came with an excellent miso base and was extremely tasty. It added a perfect salty but not too much, bringing out the Sablefishes succulent flavor and dynasty. Ok now on to dessert! âŠ. Just kidding! So here I sneakily ordered some adhoc scallops and prawns before dessert not because the 4 course wasnât enough but because I was not ready to end this culinary journey! The scallops and prawns arrived in a small searing dish and did not have any sauce or accompaniment which at first I was disappointed but then quickly appreciated the real flavors of the scallop and prawn with slight saltiness and cooked to perfection it was actually the best way to serve them. Dessert: I ordered the sticky toffee pudding. This was the only dish that let me down. I had just had the fairemonts Wildflower restraunts version the night before which blew my socks off so maybe thats why but⊠I felt the peach topping paired with the lemony citrus ice cream was a flop. The flavors didnt pair for me and I tried each combination all 3, only Ice cream and peach then only ice Cream and pudding then leach and pudding. I wasnt a fan of any of the combos. Summary: If youâre visiting whistler and in the mood for some excellent dining this is a place you should not pass up. They have an excellent menu and the chef very much knows their way around a delectable meal. The wine pairing was absolutely my favorite thing. The pairing was absolutely above par.

Latest experience Another great experience. The service was just superb. The food was great and yummy desert. My kids were tired and we had rush through the dinner and take the dessert to go so I have no photos of the food and desert. I usually come here in large groups and this time they served us in their private room area and it was great. If you are looking for fine dining experience on your visit to whistler, this is my favorite place for sure. 5 for Service 5 for Food 5 for desert 5 for ambiance Update on this review. It is only fair to give credit when it's due. After the incident Colin from the restaurant reached out and went out of her way to help resolve the situation and was extremely helpful and courteous. I love their food and that is why I dine there every time I visit whistler and I have recommended them to friends. Now that I know that they do care about their customers I would recommend them for their food is excellent. Original Review. Absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced. I have been there at least 6 times and every time the service get worse and worse. Every time there is an issue with the reservation. I called to make a reservation over 7 weeks in advance and they said they availability & that not to worry, they would send me an email with information. I waited 2 days and nothing. Called back and left message, still nothing. I called back the next day to be informed that they booked and that they we're not able to accommodate me. That they could not seat us all at the same time and that we would have to reserve the wine room with a 2500 minimum. I travel, I enjoy fine dining and I have been to many high end restaurants. It is terrible for a fine dining restaurant to provide such poor service as of they don't give sh-t about the customer. Just awful.

I'm torn with this review. It's between the food and the waitress. Our waitress was short with us, uncommunicative and unattentive, to say the least, we were unimpressed. When you come to a restaurant of this calibur, you should at least get fair service and it should not feel awkward around the waitress. Our table was low maintenance and patient. I would give the waitress a 1.5 and the food a 4 to 4.5. I'm sad I have to leave a 3 to be honest. If you want to get what I felt was fairly good food, small portions and high prices, this is your spot. The service at the door was great, we were sat quickly (with a reservation). The phone service/online booking was terrible. I really wanted to book here, my hubby and I were turning 40...so....I called a week in advance to make a booking and left 2 messages, calling 5 times over a course of a few days. I tried booking online but the option to book with our table amount was not available. I tried through both their website and a third party reservation process. Now to the food. I had the Alberta beef tenderloin, it was very Delicious. My hubby & mother in law had the mushroom and corned Risotto, not so good. My sister & brother in law also had food they thought was Good (grilled octopus) (ginger braised pork belly and scallop) (truffle fries). My son had the fries and they were good. We also got the seafood trio for 2. It was OK. Sockeye was very delicious, Wild and fresh tasting. The roll was a bit dry tasting, and came with a strange sauce that didnt seem to fit. The Albacore Tuna was good, but too much Cucumber. The Brussel Sprouts were absolutely perfect and So delicious! We also got the kisu & chef creek oysters, they were fairly tasty. The starter sour dough bread was nice and fresh, the oil and butter it comes with seems like a good idea, but could use some balsamic or likewise. I have photos of most of our our meals here. Most of the party I was with, would not go back, I may consider giving it another go, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

Everything was well done but did not meet my expectations and for the price point. The only n thing that impressed me was actually the tropical pavlova dessert with passion fruit and coconut sorbet. I adore fancy plated desserts and this one was beautiful crafted and arranged with all the elements working among each other. Don't be boring, try this. Ppl fall over heels for macaroons which is basically almond meringue with just ... This is merigune on another level. Great job pastry chef...it pays to have a dedicated pastry chef than having your sous chef whip up a brownie. The meal: The seafood tower...for $89 you serve me 10 oysters if the same kind instead of mic and match from your list of 6+?! Not to mention you served me East Coast oyster?! (I'm from Boston)... At a restaurant like v this, aren't you supposed to serve the freshest local stuff? And I can tell you, these oysters are $1 oysters worthy in east coast. Disgraced they served it. And they served me smoked salmon slices when I was expecting salmon sashimi (which is offered on the taste for two). The best thing was probably the tuna zuke--just order it off the appetizer menu.. And the shrimp cocktail. Venison... Very nicly cooked and delicious. Probably the second highlight. The homemade butternut ravioli in rosette form was amazing though Duck... Nothing spectacular but not a failure either. Overall...I would come back for dessert and venison. And homemade pasta. I gave this place 4 stars bcs it was better than the other top rated restaurant in whistler or else it would've been a 3 star.

I cannot overstate how delightful our evening at Araxi Restaurant was. Right from the outset, our server Kim exuded professionalism and attentiveness. We had booked a table for four for an early dinner and were promptly served a bottle of Rosso Montalcino, an exquisite Italian red wine, just after placing our entrée orders. For starters, we indulged in the North Arm Farm Beet Salad, featuring Pemberton radicchio, honey pearls, farmhouse goat cheese, fennel emulsion, and toasted hazelnuts, alongside the Kale Caesar Salad and Hamachi Sashimi with spicy miso yuzu dressing, jalapeno pepper, and toasted sesame oil. Our main courses were equally impressive, with highlights including Birch Syrup Roasted Venison Loin, Yarrow Meadows Duck Breast, and Miso-Marinated BC Sablefish. To cap off our fantastic meal, we savored two delectable desserts: the Araxi Lemon Tart, boasting baked lemon curd in a sweet pastry crust, creme fraiche ice cream, (no picture) and preserved raspberry coulis, and the Black Forest Gateau, featuring dark and white chocolate mousse, flourless chocolate cake, brandied cherries, and chantilly cream. To accompany our desserts, my friend and I enjoyed a glass of Elephant Island Framboise, adding an extra layer of decadence to the experience. Without a doubt, Araxi Restaurant in Whistler deserves a spot on your dining itinerary. Every visit promises culinary excellence and impeccable service, leaving us consistently impressed and thoroughly satisfied. Don't forget to make reservations - place is very popular!

We chose Araxi for my special graduation dinner but, unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. While the soup, cocktail prawns, and tuna tataki were fine, the rest of the experience left us disappointed. Upon arrival, we felt cold and requested hot chocolate, but it never arrived, perhaps because we didn't order high-ticket items like wine pairings as the table next to us got their wine in seconds. Even after mentioning we were cold, the waiter switched on the heater, but it was ineffective. It wasn't until the end of our meal that the manager adjusted the temperature, which was frustrating as we spent the whole dinner uncomfortable. The main course was the biggest letdown. After waiting 75 minutes, both dishes arrived cold. No one updated us on the status of our order. The steak was overcooked, and the mashed potatoes were overwhelmingly salty. The duck lacked tenderness and flavor, paired with a strange spring roll that was also extremely salty. The oysters were not really fresh, and two out of the three I ate had broken shell pieces. Oh btw the ciabatta arrived AFTER the soup and the tuna tataki đ„±what are we expected to do with this? For dessert, the dark chocolate ganache was average, and the yuzu cake was overly sweet, tasting more like blueberry cake, masking any hint of yuzu's refreshing flavor. Overall, a highly disappointing experience, especially for such a special occasion. The service and food quality were far below what we expected from a restaurant of this caliber.
