I generally have a high tolerance for inadequate service, especially with a breakfast style cafe where you can't expect much from the staff who truly doesn't want to be there. However, I feel obligated to warn others when I have a terrible experience. So, it was definitely a good cappuccino, but that was the end of the positive experience. I ordered food, asked specific questions about the item I ordered because I have food allergies. The girl took the order and I sat down. I waited and waited and waited ...for a REALLY long time. As I was waiting, I witnessed a couple at a neighbouring table have a mix up with their food, where one patron ended up with a food item she never ordered. After a long wait, my food arrived. Turned out they screwed up my order as well and brought me the wrong thing. I couldn't eat it because it had ingredients on it I'm deathly allergic to so the barista took it back. Well, they messed up my order not once, but twice! After bringing out the wrong order a second time I decided to not eat there (the place kind of worried me at this point) and I opted for a refund. They only refunded me a part of the bill and kept the tip I was asked to pay upfront. I wish I would have declined tipping upfront because tip is earned, not required. I am a big opponent of tipping upfront but recently the tipping culture has steered down the avenue where customers are guilt-tripped into tipping upfront. Well this experience was my turning point. No more tipping unless it's deserved, and this place definitely did not deserve any tip. So, if you do end up going here, possibly stick to the coffee only and definitely don't tip upfront. Bring some change and drop it into the tip jar IF you feel they deserve it. I certainly didn't think they deserved a tip. Go to Mogul coffee across from this place. Had a MUCH better...
Read moreOn a day trip from Vancouver today, my wife and I, being the espressoheads that we are, were looking for the best espresso that Whistler has on offer. The "Inversion" medium roast blend (Ethiopia, Peru, Columbia) at Forecast Coffee was a big disappointment and totally unremarkable. The person who took our order (Auzzie?) was very unfriendly, and gave me the dear in the headlights look when I asked her if they do a single origin natural process espresso. Her a response was "I don't know", and she frankly didn't care either. You'd think that the staff at the roasters own coffee shop would know something about coffee, but not here! Whistler simply does not have a high-end coffee bar experience such as those that we have in Vancouver. Definitely won't be going back there, ever. The best prepared cortado we could find was at Rockit Coffee in Creekside, although I'm not a huge fan of Pallet...

Waited in line about 4 minutes before ordering, then counted 17 minutes from the time my order was processed and when my name was called. Wasn't terribly busy, and at about 2pm, well past any rush hour. Had sat down to do some work, and got most of it done before I got my coffee.
Only had a 8oz cappuccino. fortunately I wasn't anticipating takeaway.
barista only apologised and mentioned understaffing, though there were 5 or so staff on.
tables were dirty, so I grabbed the sanitiser, located a rag, and cleaned a few myself.
cappuccino was pretty good. would like to have had the option of the cocoa topping, rather than have it automatically added without consultation.
will try again once they get their...
