Went for a solo lunch and got my usual Al Pastor Trio (+1 for taco tueaday) and Birria Ramen (spicy). ~ $30 total including a small tip and tax. The same person is working as every time I've visited and is the most consistently accommodating person with positive energy radiating from his smile and eyes. I can tell he respects all his customers by the way he acknowledged me. After dining here a few times now, I can say this place is clean with a welcoming atmosphere (he turned on good music when I sat down to dine in). I felt bad I didn't wipe my shoes when coming in but won't forget next time. The food is just exactly what I wanted. No fuss, no competing flavors, just a flavor that is unmatched in this city. It seems effortless, but the proof is in the taste and details of the the food is packaged even. Neat, mindful, and to the top. Just come try anything off this beautifully simple menu and see for yourself. Tip well if you can afford it, they are really performing a labor of love at this small taco shop. Hope this place becomes a Winnipeg staple, I'll be back regardless. Thank you shop keeper for the food and effort to keep this place clean and welcoming.

If you're looking for a good taco at a reasonable price, I recommend going elsewhere. Just a block away, places like Burrito Del Rio offer much better value or a little bit of drive from there BMC market is amazing as well. I decided to try this spot out of curiosity, but it was a letdown. The tacos themselves weren’t terrible, but they were definitely not worth the price — $15 for three tiny tacos, and they charge an extra $1 per taco if you want cheese. One adult will need at least 5-6 tacos to feel like a meal. $30 for a taco meal is just too expensive. To make it worse, you can't even order individual tacos to try different kinds. On top of that, the food safety practices were very concerning. None of the staff were wearing gloves while handling food. I could overlook that if proper handwashing was evident, but the girl at the till — with long fake nails — took my order and immediately went into the kitchen to prepare food without washing her hands. That was the final straw for me. I won’t be coming back.

My wife and I came up to visit Winnipeg from the US state of Iowa about a month ago to support our kind Canadian neighbours. The city we live in (Sioux City) has a good selection of authentic Mexican food, so we wanted to see what Winnipeg had to offer, and this place impressed us greatly. The food was so delicious that we didn't remember to take photos until we were already partially done eating. I got the birria tacos and my wife got tacos al pastor. The service was quick also. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed, but there are only a couple of tables available for indoor seating and no outdoor seating that I'm aware of. Overall, I would highly recommend this place!

Ordered the birria and chicken carnitas tacos. I phoned in my order and it was ready within 10 minutes. The person who took my order seemed nice. And when i went in to get my order the staff was very friendly and the chef in the back even thanked me for ordering. These were some of the best tacos I've ever had. The consome with the birria tacos was some of the best I've ever had. The Chile's used were very flavourful and not too spicy. I was shocked with how much pork was in the consome, it was it's own dish. I've never had carnitas tacos before but the flavours.... Amazing. You can taste the hints of citrus without using any lime, it paired well with the salsa pebre. The price was pretty good as well. It is a take out only resturant but there is quite a bit of street parking around ao you can always park and eat...
