We went back to Tempo last Saturday to celebrate a belated Mother’s Day with our Mom & Pop. We had loved our previous dinner at Tempo and thought we would try it again – we were not disappointed !! Tempo Restaurant is indoor dining with a very stylish, chic décor. Very comfortable dining atmosphere.
Alicia was our server and she was a delight to work with. She began us with various interesting cocktails including a Tempo Lemonade with Prosecco (which was delightful) and a Hot Honey Peach Margarita. We then moved on to appetizers of Sea Scallops with Saffron Cream and Brie with Berry Compote. Again, definitely not disappointed with the appetizers, as we literally licked our plates clean 😊.
The men each chose a Peppercorn NY Striploin with panfried mushrooms and onions on the side and both agreed that it was a perfectly cooked steak and one of the best that they had ever had (super tender, juicy, flavourful). The Wild Mushroom Pasta (yes, fresh made pasta) with Goat Cheese was also out of this world and definitely worth a try. All dinner selections were very flavourful and definitely using quality ingredients. Their plating of food is impeccable and each plate delivered to your table looks divine.
The place was buzzing on that Saturday night and we were very glad that we had made reservations. Alicia quickly seated us and provided us with attentive service all night long. For what you are getting the price point is well worth it.
Thank you Simon for another great dinner out. Heard you were out catering a wedding so we’ll be sure to catch up with you next time we are in...
Read moreWoodstock really needed a place like Tempo! I had an incredible meal and an unforgettable experience there!!
The drink menu is exceptional & a work of art when served. I highly recommend trying the espresso martini and the hot honey peach margarita, they’re both fantastic.
I began with the Arancini Balls and Beef Wellingtons, and they were outstanding. You can tell everything is made fresh from scratch in-house. The pasta sauce accompanying the Arancini is absolutely delicious, leaving me eager to try a pasta dish on my next visit.
Next, I had the Ribeye Steak, cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavour it was paired with blue cheese butter, which elevated the dish even further. The sides of roasted vegetables and potatoes complemented the meal beautifully.
The atmosphere is elegant yet comfortable, giving off a warm, inviting vibe. One of my favourite features of Tempo is that you can partially see the chefs at work. It adds a unique element to the dining experience. It’s evident that the chefs take great pride in their craft, which enhances the overall dining experience.
The service at Tempo was truly exceptional. The staff is knowledgeable and clearly passionate about their work. They go above and beyond to ensure your glass is never empty and that everything meets your expectations. Their personalitys contribute significantly to the great vibe & welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant.
I’m already looking forward to my next visit , would highly...
Read moreI made a reservation 10 days in advance and mentioned that we were celebrating my retirement—a milestone I had been looking forward to commemorating. I specifically requested a cozy, private table, assuming that a 5:30 p.m. booking would allow for a good spot since it’s not typically a busy time for restaurants.
When we arrived, we immediately noticed a small table for two right by the front door. My husband joked, "I hope that's not our table." Unfortunately, it was. When we asked to be moved, the staff hovered by our table with a clipboard, discussing other reservations and suggesting they could turn up the heat to make it more bearable. They explained that other tables were reserved for later, though not so late that we couldn’t have finished our meal in time. We were told our drinks would make the experience better, so we reluctantly stayed.
Throughout the evening, we endured the chill every time the door opened. Despite the excellent food and service, the poor seating put a damper on what should have been a special celebration. After all, how many occasions top a retirement? Perhaps a 20-year-old’s birthday?
To make matters worse, a table that would have been perfect for us sat empty until just before we left. The couple who eventually took it included a coworker of mine, so at least I had the small consolation of greeting him and receiving a kind congratulations as we departed.
While the evening wasn’t entirely ruined, it wasn’t the memorable celebration I...
