I’m dissatisfied with the service at this restaurant, particularly with one server. Despite our loyalty to various Mandarin oriental hotels, this property has been the most disappointing. After over 30 hours of travel, we chose Senso Restaurant for a quick and easy meal to get back to resting . However, our experience was marred when the server, a chubbier gentleman, repeatedly ignored us, first was when we attempted to order and second time when we tried get help during dinner. To my absolute shock, he on purposely ignored when I was trying to speak to him, so i waved at him as he walked by our table and said “excuse me sir, can you please….” He cut me off instantly and said he only want to serve his tables and that he is not our server. Despite his claim that he only served assigned tables, I observed him assisting others with enthusiasm. This behavior was not in line with the standard we expect from Mandarin Oriental hotels and left me feeling disappointed and disrespected.
Despite one particular server, the other female server who was on the same duty was very willing and served us...
Read moreWe went to celebrate a very special birthday (it was my mom’s 60th birthday) and we had a lot of expectations for this place (I did reserved a table ahead so there were prepared to at least a complementary dessert for the main guest), the surroundings are beautifully placed, everything is tied yet nicely decorated. The garden’s view is lovely too. The food wasn’t bad, it was decorated beautifully, but if size matters to you, then you will be disappointed as they are gourmet style. The restaurant didn’t make any arrangements for my mom’s birthday nor they gave us any complementary present, which was a bummer. We ordered risotto, salmon, pepper sauce beef and it was not tender, we do cater pepper sauce in every place we go; since my husband is a fan, I wouldn’t say I don’t recommend it; just there’s something missing, chirimoya’s juices were good and the cocktails were ok too.
Overall, it’s a fairly place to go. If you want a beautiful view and good service, then this is your place. I’ve heard that the brunch experience is way better, maybe You should try that...
Read moreI am blown away by the quality and standards that Senso upholds in their dishes and most importantly their service. You do not get service like this in most restaurants in Chile, even the higher end ones. Now the food… the quality is incredible compared to the prices. Some of the most fresh oysters I have had in Santiago. We also had the wagyu steak, the carpaccio and the pasta with added truffle. Obviously we don’t need to speak about the wine because all the wine is fantastic here. I will be staying at the Mandarin and eating here every time I am in Santiago. Special thanks to Javiera our mesera who is incredibly kind and exceptionally...
