Matsuri — Restaurant in Las Condes

We came for a birthday lunch. The concierge asked us to park in the parking garage, which was unfortunately closed. So we ended up in the underground parking of the neighboring building. There were no signs and we had to search for the entrance and walk a long way to get there. The restaurants were also not signposted. First we sat in the wrong restaurant, where it was not possible to order Asian food. So we had to move to the other side of the terrace. By the way, the service up to this point was in no way appropriate for a 5-star hotel. Then it got better, the waiter was nice and the view of the pool was beautiful. The sushi as an appetizer was very tasty and really handsomely arranged. The main courses were unfortunately a big disappointment. In the dish of miso ramen, the chef must have made a mistake and seasoned it with sugar instead of salt. It was abominable. This dish we unfortunately had to give back and explain as an Asian how something like that should actually taste.... The second time the dish was then quite ok. Furthermore, there was a dish with udon noodles and steak. Despite the high price, there was little meat in this dish, but an incredible amount of (cheap) onions and plain fettuccine noodles instead of homemade udon noodles. So the dish was a sham.... Probably assumed that Chileans do not notice, but if you come from Asia or have lived in Asia for a long time, you are just disappointed. We would never have expected something like this in an Asian...

Es difícil expresar con palabras la experiencia gastronómica y el servicio que recibimos en el restaurante Matsuri ubicado dentro de el Hotel Mandarín en Santiago, Chile pero, lo intentaré.

El restaurante Matsuri es un ejemplo perfecto de lo que es una comida de fusión Peruana-Japonesa. Es una buena experiencia familiar e íntima muy bien ubicada en la capital de Chile. El ambiente es perfecto para disfrutar de un viaje gastronómico muy increíble, satisfactorio, sabroso y auténticamente único. Es un increíble ambiente para compartir con tus seres queridos, amigos y no tiene comparación para una cena romántica!

¡La comida es increíble y la presentación es indescriptible! ¡Pero, si la comida es exquisita, el servicio es lo que hace la experiencia! El servicio es más que INCREÍBLE, súper atento, todo a su tiempo y muy eficiente. ¡Todo el personal se asegurará de que su experiencia sea la mejor experiencia gastronómica que usted pueda tener! Por supuesto, si vas a cenar, definitivamente solicite a Nicolás. El simplemente los mejor anfitrión! Mi esposa y yo Disfrutamos de su hospitalidad, conocimientos acerca de todos los platos e ingredientes, datos históricos y su excelente servicio. Este joven caballeros nos hizo sentir como si fuéramos los únicos clientes en el restaurante. Súper atento, profesional y carismático.

De la comida….. simplemente waoooo. ¡La comida lleva tu paladar a una aventura! Los sabores de todos los ingredientes muestran la frescura y la íntima selección de el Chef del restaurante y su equipo.

Mi esposa y yo disfrutamos su cena de cumpleaños increíblemente! No solo por la comida sin comparación, sino también por el ambiente tan espectacular. La mesa en que fuimos ubicados, tenía la vista a la cordillera de los Andes para hacer la experiencia más espectacular!

¡Definitivamente un lugar para visitar en cualquier ocasión! Una experiencia deliciosa en todos los aspectos! Para nosotros; se sintió como si fuera una extensión de nuestro hogar y familia!

My review in English… It is difficult to put into words the dining experience and service we received at the Matsuri restaurant located inside the Mandarín Hotel in Santiago, Chile, but I will try.

The Matsuri restaurant is a perfect example of Peruvian-Japanese fusion food. It is a good family and intimate experience very well located in the capital of Chile. The atmosphere is perfect to enjoy a very incredible, satisfying, tasty and authentically unique gastronomic journey. It is an incredible atmosphere to share with your loved ones, friends and has no comparison for a romantic dinner!

The food is amazing and the presentation is indescribable! But, if the food is exquisite, the service is what makes the experience! The service is more than AMAZING, super attentive, everything on time and very efficient. The entire staff will make sure your experience is the best dining experience you can ever have! Of course, if you're going to dinner, definitely order Nicolas. Simply the best host! My wife and I enjoyed their hospitality, knowledge about all the dishes and ingredients, historical data, and their excellent service. This young gentlemen made us feel as if we were the only customers in the restaurant. Super attentive, professional and charismatic.

About the food…..just waoooo. Food takes your palate on an adventure! The flavors of all the ingredients show the freshness and intimate selection of the restaurant's Chef and his team.

My wife and I enjoyed her birthday dinner incredibly! Not only because of the unparalleled food, but also because of the spectacular atmosphere. The table we were seated at had a view of the Andes mountain range to make the experience more spectacular!

We arrived at Matsuri with high expectations, assuming it was fully booked given the limited online booking options. However, upon arrival, we were surprised to find ample availability and adjusted our reservation accordingly. While some positive reviews initially intrigued us, we found the food to be good but not worth the price. The maki sushi roll was too fishy for my partner, earning a 6/10 from them, while the red tuna ceviche stood out as the highlight with an 8/10 rating. Unfortunately, the pork and prawn dim sum was a disappointment, receiving only a 5/10 due to bland flavors and small portions. We've dined at other nearby establishments that offered exceptional food at slightly lower prices. While the staff were adequate, they didn't stand out in any particular way.
