I first came across Big Grains on Instagram as I was on a quest for a decent canelé in Hong Kong.
It has been my to-go list for awhile now especially after reading the story about how the brothers started the business. Yes I am a bit sensitive but I think good pastries are art and you do it best with heart!
Anyway, I have finally made it today with a friend and tried a few of their products: • canelé, what I came here for, was certainly above average. Will come back for more. • pistachio tart, both of us were impressed. Very nutty yet light. • Earl grey chocolate tart, we think it will be even better if the Earl grey flavour was stronger as the chocolate was overwhelming. We love the tart base tho. • white peony tea, I didn’t try that but my friend like it.

They have a small standing area next to the window. Otherwise, this is a typical take-away style bakery. There is a small park across the street if looking for a place nearby.

Read moreThis is the second branch of BG with it's first in Jordan. The shop in Jordan is much smaller compared to this concept store and they serve teas here as well. My first visit to BG in Jordan wasn't impressive as the selections were quite Asian such as the filled bagels with pork floss so I didn't have any expectations at this branch. Got the scallion prawn roe sweet soft bread.
