Everything was great except the price... which was probably 20% to 30% unjustifiably higher than what I was expecting.
The ambience of this Chinese restaurant is beautiful and the service was impeccable. The waiters and waitresses were very pleasant well above Hong Kong standards.
The food was tasty with some dishes being exceptionally good such as the crab and the dim sum appetizers, and some just okay like the green garlicky vegetables, the steamed fish, the fried rice and the chicken/fish jaws soup.
The desert, home maid ice cream, was as indifferent as it could be albeit it’s almost $10 per scoop ticket price !!!
We paid HKD 9,300 in four, equivalent to $1,200 USD and the after dinner feeling was a bit bitter ...
In fairness to the restaurant it is a good place as it ticks all the boxes, ambience, service, food quality however the pricing is exorbitantly high and you can certainly find the same combination (food-ambience-service), at ~25% less.
Give it a chance and watch the menu carefully before ordering but there’s...
Read moreUpon entering the restaurant I was immediately struck by the decor and styling of the restaurant. You kind of feel like your stepping back in time to old Hong Kong and the outfits of the staff match the decor very well. Service here is very good and this is a great place to go for a date night or to take people from out of town. The food is also quite good and there is a good mix of creative takes on dishes and classic presentations.

Recommendations: typhoon shelter shrimp, crab xiao long bao, char siu pastry
On my visit I had the Peking duck which I found fine but wasn’t particularly impressed by. The skin didn’t have the crispness I was hoping for. The typhoon shelter crab is very good. I loved all the fried garlic and the hint of heat from the chili’s. The shrimps were luscious and had the nice snap you get from fresh seafood. I also enjoyed the dim sum here with the crab Xiao long bao and the char siu apple puff the real stand...

I used to go to the Tsim Sha Tsui branch before they closed down shortly after the 'main' COVID 'outbreaks'. However, throughout the years, they have provided excellent food with every dish prepared to the best of their abilities. The service is also impeccable, making every bite worth its price. They have a Dim-Sum (lunch) menu as well as a Dinner 'A La Carte' menu, which are just as good as each other. One of their most popular dishes is the 'Char Siu', which is cooked to the perfect degree, retaining all the juices whilst not being undercooked nor burnt. The Lobster with Wine Sauce is another popular dish at this Restaurant, with all the juices also kept within the dish even after cooking, and the lobster meat has also got texture.
All in all, from what I have had from this restaurant, you cannot go wrong whatever you order. Very much recommended.
Booking is recommended but...
