No. of this chain restaurant likely has been reduced to only two in Hk. Hakka cuisine once was one of the major dishes and choice for Hongkonger. So, we still remember the good dishes they offered in 60 n 70s. Today, we ordered two signature dishes at here, as we found most of today Hakka cuisine are so not the same as old days Very surprised, their salt - baked chicken was so good and excellent here, much better than other place, soft, tender and the salty favor was just right. I should give a thumb to them The other one we wanted to try was the Braised pork- stuffed Tofu in Dong Kwong cooking. As This authentic Tofu dish is almost disappeared in Hk, most of the restaurants are serving you the wrong style. Here, the Tofu cooked quite reaching to authentic, almost, but still not like old days. As they used too little of the stuffing into the Tofu, and not pan-fried them longer more before braising. The stuffing is short of the dried salted fish, not enough. But not be disappointed, the Tofu which were very fresh and good taste, and they braised them with good yellow bean. That's a bonus on this dish The black bean steamed Eel was good fresh too. You could know by its skin n texture. Seasoning sauce was tasteful. For such price, spacious place and good view, it is an up to standard Hakka restaurant in the city and hope they will...
Read moreJust walk by this place. My dad always took me to the mongkok ‘sneaker’ street. It was shut down long ago. So I decide to give it a shot. On the 2nd floor. It is bright and spacious. Lots of blue collar class come for lunch. I need to share the table with an uncle. He ordered the classic. Steam fish with preserved vegetable. My order for sweet and sour pork, fry rice and soup. Everything is made to order. The meat is good not just flour. My memories came back. I still remember what my dad loved to order. Taste is good and lay back Saturday afteroon. And you get the choice for a pot...
Read moreAuthentic hakka food. Nice and comfortable dining environment. Excellent services. For HK$75, you can enjoy a pair of nice chicken legs with rice (probably by luck in Year of the Snake since ususally one chicken leg is provided). The stirred fried grouper with bitter melon and rice noodles is also good.
