Was here recently for lunch, on the recommendation of my friend.

There is a good selection of coffees and non coffee beverages to choose from and the food menu ranges from breakfast, brunch, lunch and dessert. Items under the lunch menu are only available from 12:00. Desserts can be chosen from the display fridge at the counter, which offers more than is shown on the menu. I had difficulty deciding what I most wanted to try because everything sounds delicious. You can help yourself to jugs of water, plates and cutlery on the table by the pillar.

The coffee is great. I had a large cappuccino and a large mocha, both were very well made, creamy and tasty and the coffee art was beautiful. The pulled pork toastie was a definite winner for me. The zucchini and halloumi fritters were slightly too soft. I expected them to have a bit more crunchiness and texture. Otherwise the dish is very well made. The white lump in the middle of the plate is not cheese, it’s a poached egg with a perfectly gooey yolk. Don’t make the same mistake as me by cutting into it and wasting the yolk! We also ordered carrot cake from the display cabinet to share. It was a bit on the dry side. Maybe a lump of cream would have solved the problem.

The cafe itself is very spacious. They keep all the floor to ceiling windows open to allow guests with pets to sit along the window area, so it can get a little chilly sometimes but will be very nice when it gets warmer.

Minus one star because there is always room for improvement and also the toilet is broken and apparently there are no plans to fix it so if you need to go to the toilet, you need to leave. Please get your...

The cafe has a good atmosphere and is great for studying or meetings with friends. Because it is on the other side of Hong Kong island, the cafe was not crowded. The staff is very nice and friendly + happy to help you. They speak perfect english in case you don't speak Mandarin or Cantoneese.

The food and drinks I had: ● Mango smoothie ☆☆☆☆☆, nice and refreshing. ● Hazelnut maple frensh toast ☆☆☆☆ a little bit too sweet for my taste, but the bread was delicious. You do get 2 big pieces of loaf broken up into 4, so keep this in mind if you have a small appetite. ●Chai latte with espresso shot ☆☆☆☆☆ It was great, and the amount of chai was just perfectly balanced. ●Scrambled eggs on Sourdough ☆☆☆☆☆ the eggs were fluffy and creamy. You get the option of edding extra salt and peper if necessary. ●Green tea ☆☆☆☆☆ the tea, was nice and light after all the food and drinks I had.

I had stayed in the cafe for multiple hours, and when my laptop battery died, the staff let my laptop charge at the back. If you come here to study they only have a few power outlets in the cafe so keep this in mind.

Overall rating is a 4.8 for me. The prices are good for what you get. The chairs and couches don't have pillows, so it might get uncomfortable after being there...

Little Cove Espresso is a well-liked café that offers only breakfast and lunch, and we visited for breakfast. The food is decent, but the menu setup is quite unusual. Instead of serving complete dishes, they provide a basic plate and charge extra for almost every addition — from bacon and salmon to certain sauces. While this “build-your-own” style might appeal to some, it seems more like a way to increase the bill rather than improve the dining experience. Personally, I find this pricing approach a bit unfair for a casual café. The atmosphere is lively but quite noisy. During our visit, the place was filled with young children and babies, so there was constant crying and shouting in the background. It’s not the sort of environment where you can relax and enjoy a quiet breakfast, especially if you favour a calm start to your day. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and helpful, doing their best to keep things running smoothly despite the busy and noisy environment. Overall, Little Cove Espresso may suit those seeking a trendy and lively café with a young family clientele, but if you’re after a peaceful breakfast or a simple dining experience without extra trimmings, this might not be the ideal spot.
