Crêpe Delicious (Urban Cafe) — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Crepe Delicious, originally from Canada 🇨🇦, has two floors on Lee Tung Street. After lunchtime, the environment here is quiet enough. If you want to find a place to chill and relax, it would be a great choice 😌

Their crepe sauces are directly imported from Canada. Not only do they have a variety of made-to-order crepe flavors, but they also offer pasta, pizza, milkshakes, ice cream, and very affordable lunch sets available from Monday to Sunday. For just an additional $38, you can get a soup and a drink, which is quite a good deal!

This time, my friend and I tried their butternut squash soup with the set. It was smooth and had a subtle, creamy flavor 🎃

🥞 For the pancake, we chose the signature BBQ pulled pork crepe. My friend wanted the skin to be thinner, but I thought the thickness was just right for lunch (otherwise, I might not have been full enough). When served hot, the cheese was still stretchy! The portion of pork inside was quite generous, and with the addition of onions, red peppers, and BBQ sauce, it was delicious 🤤

Next, we tried the pan-seared Hokkaido scallop pesto linguine. The scallops were large, thick, and seared to perfection with a crispy exterior and tender interior 😋 The texture of the linguine was just right, not too soft or too hard, and the pesto sauce wasn't greasy at all.

Apart from the main dishes, the drinks at Crepe Delicious are definitely worth trying! The lemon soda is refreshing, fizzy, and ice-cold! There's also the cookie vanilla gelato shake, which is fragrant and smooth, topped with fresh whipped cream 🍪

Finally, you can't miss their gelato! The homemade artisanal ice cream is imported from Italy, with a dense and creamy texture and natural sweetness, made fresh daily 🍦 The most appealing aspect is its bouncy texture. You really have to experience it yourself to understand why the gelato here...

I recently visited this restaurant on a weekday for dinner and opted for their combo set, which offered a variety of signature options. While the food itself was delightful, I must say that the overall experience was marred by the subpar service.

Let's start with the positives. The combo set was an absolute treat, providing a wide array of delicious signature dishes. Each item was thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor, making it a satisfying culinary experience. The restaurant definitely knows how to craft a memorable meal.

However, I was disappointed with the service throughout the evening. One of the basic expectations of any dining experience is attentive staff, and unfortunately, this was lacking. The water glasses at our table were left empty throughout the evening, and despite our attempts to get the attention of the servers, they seemed to be preoccupied elsewhere.

To add to our disappointment, we ordered ice cream for dessert, but it never arrived at our table. After waiting for a good 10 minutes and attempting to inquire about it, we were left waiting without any explanation or even an apology. It's disheartening when such simple requests are overlooked, especially when paying customers are eagerly anticipating their meal's conclusion.

Although the food itself was commendable, the lackluster service left a sour taste in our mouths. Attention to detail and prompt customer service are essential in the hospitality industry, and unfortunately, this restaurant fell short in that regard. While I appreciate the positive aspects of our dining experience, I will likely explore other options in the future where service is given the attention it deserves.

Overall, I would recommend this restaurant for its delectable food, but be prepared for potential service...

🇭🇰 Wan Chai 灣仔｜Crepe Delicious

Crepe is a French 🇫🇷 dish which is like a pancake, 🥞 but thinner in size and usually has 2️⃣ varieties, which are sweet and savoury crepes. In Crepe Delicious, you can try both with lots of toppings and stuffings to choose from! 👀 Here are my orders:

🍄‍🟫 Chicken Fettuccine in Black Truffle Cream Sauce 🍝 If you love truffles like I do, this is a go-to for you! 😍 Their truffle sauces are so heavy and they even added a lot of mushrooms 🍄‍🟫 inside, which double down on the truffle flavours! The fettuccine is on the chewy side which I love a lot about it too! 😌

🐖 BBQ Ribs with French Fries 🍟 Their BBQ sauce for the ribs is amazing! 🤩 The BBQ sauce is very flavourful and has a bit of sweetness inside, ☺️ so it won’t be too heavy in taste that gets you full very quickly. The meat around the bones 🍖 are tender too which makes them easy to be eaten off and won’t be too troublesome to handle the bones! 🦴

🥞 Double Tiramisu Crepe with Gelato 🍧 This is their famous sweet crepe dessert which I also highly recommend! 👍 The inside of the crepe is filled with tiramisu flavoured cream 😍 while there are more on the side! The crepe is thin and soft and when you eat it with the gelato 🍨 on top, which can also be a sorbet, 🍧 the flavour brings you to heaven! 🪽I would definitely come back for more crepe, perhaps trying out different...
