Bought cake from here to reward our hard work in April! . My supervisor and I chose Black Forest, Mixed Berry & Basil Mousse Tart and Opera share.
The Black Forest looked delicate with chocolate chips and cranberries on top. It was quite crispy and the sponge cake inside blended well with the chocolate.
The Mixed Berry & Basil Mousse Tart was surrounded by white chocolate, so it was comparatively sweeter.
The Opera got the richest chocolate among all. The amount of cocoa was ideal, so it was not too sweet to have. The different layers of chocolate also enhanced the savoury of the dessert. . Located at Pacific Place, they offered dine-in service as well. One can sit comfortably at the resto to have afternoon tea. But we simply bought takeaway this time. ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Went to this French resto in Pacific Place with colleagues for lunch. . The Lunch started with complimentary bread. Hotly-served, the pleasantly soft bread was accompanied by butter.
Then, I ordered the Three Courses Lunch Set, which included two appetisers and one main course. Here are my selections:
-Appetisers: -Seared Lobster Salad (+HKD38) The lobster was firm and elastic, with the mango sauce elevating its umami. The sauce made the fresh vegetables more appetising with a subtle combination of sweetness and sourness.
-French Onion Soup (+HKD28) Topped with a thick layer of cheese toast, the soup was filled with shredded onion slices. The sweetness of the onions was apparent, and the soup became utterly rich due to the cheese, making it slightly heavy.
-Main Course: -Pan-fried Fish of the Day The fish of the day was salmon. Accompanied by fish roes and spinach, the salmon had an alluring, crispy skin. It was tender and extremely succulent, and the bursting fish roes added more layers to each bite.
I added HKD38 for a French Pastry, which I selected the Serradura Flower Pot. Resembling a sunflower in a pot, it looked super cute. The crumbled Marie biscuits and whipped cream mimicked the soil, while the chocolate cup served as the flower pot. The sweetness of the flower pot was a bit overwhelming for me, but the dessert had a delightful combination of creaminess and crunchiness overall.
For drinks, I ordered a Hot Mocha. Topped with some cocoa powder, the mocha was smooth with an intense chocolate flavour. . The staff was quite nice and helpful. When asked about water preferences, we requested still water, and it seemed there was no extra charge for it. . The interior of the resto is not very large, but it looks elegant with decorations which remind you of France. The maximum group size it can accommodate should be...
Read moreDisappointing experience.
Upon arrival, I was informed by the staff that I had not booked the afternoon tea set, despite having made a reservation in advance online. This initial confusion was already disconcerting, as I had been looking forward to experiencing your highly anticipated tea set offering.
After some further discussion, the staff then informed me that they had attempted to reach me by phone but were unsuccessful. While I understand the importance of confirming reservations, it is disheartening to learn that this miscommunication resulted in me being denied the opportunity to enjoy the complete tea set experience.
What was even more disappointing was the response I received from the manager. Instead of offering a solution or attempting to rectify the situation, the manager dismissively stated that I would not be able to receive the present that comes with the crossover tea set. Furthermore, the suggestion to book at one of your other branches if I was dissatisfied with the options presented was both unprofessional and unsatisfactory.
As a customer, I believe that clear communication, attentiveness, and flexibility are vital components of exceptional service. It is unfortunate that my experience today did not reflect these qualities. I had been eagerly looking forward to indulging in your special afternoon tea set, and the way this situation was handled left me feeling frustrated and undervalued...
Read moreI thought I was seeing things when I saw another DALLAYAU on the floor above the popup store and it turns out that this was a new Bistro so we went there for dinner as it is nice and quiet. The cake selection is as good as always and it is impressive that they have a gluten free cake as a choice. As it was a cold day, we started with soups: ++++ Parisian vegetable soup: To most people, it looks like finely diced vegetables but I really liked it because it was light and tasty consomme. Onion soup with cheese toast: The onion soup was also good because it was sweet with a concentrated onion taste that wasn't too salty. +++ Lobster salad Religieuse: This was a savory version of the Religieuse dessert, the top choux is stuffed with avocado while the bottom choux is filled with lobster. +++ duck confit opera: This is a close up to show the beautiful layers. ++++ Norwegian salmon roll: The salmon roll is so much more stunning than the photo because it is wrapped in a delicious clear savory jelly. In the middle there is a poached egg with a runny yolk which makes it evilicious and gives it a surprise to someone who is having it for the first time. The gem lettuce on the side has been drizzled with lemon juice so it is really appetizing. +++ duck confit opera: This is a close up to show the beautiful layers.
Everything was delicious and the drinks were...
