Halfway Coffee, located at Upper Lascar Row in Sheung Wan, is truly a gem among the bustling coffee shops in the area. What sets it apart from the rest is despite it being small it has a unique arrangement and the exceptional ambience it offers to coffee enthusiasts. First and foremost, let me begin by highlighting the fact that Halfway Coffee served me the best piccolo in town. The ambiance of Halfway Coffee is also worth mentioning. The cozy and rustic interior, adorned with beautiful artwork and warm lighting, creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to unwind, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a quiet moment with a delicious cup of coffee. However, it is important to note that there are a couple of slight drawbacks. It’s quite pricey but I guess it’s aligned with the quality. Also all customers who choose to sit in are required to order something. While this may seem like a stretched rule, it is understandable as it ensures that the limited seating available is reserved for those who truly appreciate the coffee and the experience Halfway Coffee offers.

a very lovely coffee shop at the middle of the antique street. there were lots of people when i arrived, most of them were sitting and chatting at outdoor. i was then able to get a seat at the indoor but it's comparatively stuffy. my friend and i were actually here for a light brunch, but we were so tempted by its dessert. we ordered a brownie plate to share, then each of us get a drink. the brownie plate looked really amazing! it's not only with the brownie alone but also a scoop of ice cream, dried and fresh fruits. the apple and raspberry were sweet! the drinks were good too i had a longan honey latte, but would expect strong longan sweet flavour. the place was furnished too with antique table lamp and the drinkware with traditional chinese style. a great place to visit!

Halfway Coffee offers a delightful blend of nostalgia and contemporary charm. During our recent meeting there, we were captivated by the clever juxtaposition of vintage porcelain cups against a sleek, modern backdrop. The ambiance exudes warmth and sophistication, providing the perfect setting for productive gatherings or leisurely chats over coffee. The attention to detail in incorporating vintage elements adds a unique touch to the overall experience, leaving a lasting impression. With its inviting atmosphere and thoughtful design, Halfway Coffee is more than just a place to grab a cup of coffee—it's a destination where past meets present, creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for all who visit.

Halfway Coffee, nestled discreetly in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island, emerges as a sanctuary that blends nostalgia with contemporary charm. The mere mention of its name evokes a sense of intrigue, conjuring images of a hidden oasis within the bustling urban landscape.

Upon stepping inside, one is enveloped by a unique ambiance, where the fusion of eclectic decor and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee creates a haven for both reflection and connection. The choice of music, carefully curated to complement the serene atmosphere, resonates with each sip of coffee, transporting visitors to a bygone era while grounding them in the present moment.

Adjacent to this quaint coffee haven lies an antique museum, adding another layer of allure to the experience. The juxtaposition of old-world artifacts and modern indulgences like gourmet coffee underscores Halfway Coffee's ethos of bridging past and present, tradition and innovation.

Halfway Coffee thus becomes not merely a place to enjoy a cup of coffee, but a testament to the art of creating spaces that transcend mere functionality. It invites patrons to pause, engage their senses, and reflect on the passage of time amidst the ephemeral pleasures of life.

In essence, Halfway Coffee in Sheung Wan emerges not only as a hidden gem but as a testament to the power of ambiance and experience in transforming a simple visit into a journey of contemplation...

We stumbled upon this quaint café and thought it would be a nice stop during our prenup shoot. My friends and I were having a great morning and just wanted to take a quick break, enjoy some coffee, and catch up, it was our first time in Hong Kong and we hadn’t seen each other in months.

Shortly after arriving, a staff member approached us to ask whether we were ordering or just taking photos. We were told that taking pictures wasn’t allowed unless scheduled and approved by their “boss.” That should have been our cue to leave, but we decided to stay and order since we just wanted to enjoy the moment.

We took a few casual photos on our phones - it wasn’t a formal shoot inside or anything - but we felt watched the entire time. It was uncomfortable and awkward. We weren’t being disruptive at all, just trying to make the most of our time together.

Later, we politely asked if we could take just one photo, and we were turned down. The staff’s tone was curt, and even though they said “sorry,” it came off cold and unfriendly.

We didn’t end up enjoying the food because of how tense everything felt. Honestly, this was the only negative experience we had during our trip...

I was really excited to visit because of the cute vibes but I was disappointed. Note that I came in around noon on a Saturday, which is a busy time, so maybe I’d have better luck at a more off peak time.

Vibes were 90% just the unique coffee cups. The other 10% is the ability to sit outside and sit on a cute alley. Otherwise, the interior was unremarkable

Drinks were fine. Not the best matcha latte I ever had but also not the worst.

Food was disappointing. I ordered the sourdough toast with smoked salmon, avocado, and egg. First of all, there was just one tiny piece of salmon. And they have a whole half of an avocado but it was barely ripe and just sort of uncut, unmashed, and just sitting there?

Service was not great. The staff was super nice and clearly working hard during a busy rush hour, but it did leave me sitting at my table for 20 min before I finally got up and asked to order. Waiting another 15 before anything got to me.

Tldr; stay for the vibes only if you’re drinking and not eating. Decent spot if you need coffee to go. Take a picture of the cute...
