  1. Waiter kept hounding us if he can take away the condiments 4-5 times while we were still poring over the menu. If I want to be hounded, I could have dined at your ghetto HK cha chan teng, not at a $500-600 per pax eatery. Also we paid for the condiments, so what’s the rush and what’s the fuss? Don’t even bother asking for top-ups.
  2. The waitress spoke broken Cantonese to us and can barely explain the soup base. Do tell your non-native speakers not to attempt the language if it is not their first language or if they can’t converse adequately to provide service. This potentially led to the next issue
  3. It was our first time here. So we wouldn’t know what the soup was supposed to look like. We ordered coconut chicken soup (we wanted something light) and clearly marked it on the order sheet. When the bill came, it was some chicken conch soup and it was substantially pricier. When asked if they made a mistake, they insisted that we ordered it but couldn’t show us the sheet that we marked, and blamed us for marking it wrongly. Which we know we didn’t because we discussed at length.
  4. So either this place is a scam, in which they pile expensive soups onto new unsuspecting customers who wouldn’t know what these things are supposed to look like. Looks like they place the onus on customers to know the orders. Or the waitress misunderstood the order and keyed in the more expensive soup. So it’s either insidious cheating or utter incompetence.
  5. Lack of common sense. When asked why the lamb slices had black spots on it, the same waitress claimed that it was blood and that it was freshly sliced. I have eaten my fair share of lamb slices - this is utter bollocks. This is a quality issue for sure (you don’t serve meat that don’t look ‘perfect’, which gives rise to concerns). Also, you can’t possibly slice lamb thinly without it being frozen.
  6. Fish paste, shrimp paste, sliced beef, bean curd and assorted meatballs were fine though. The conch chicken soup that came was fine too.
  7. Despite the nice decor, well designed interior.
  8. Stomach discomfort after the meal (we didn’t...

If you're looking for a fantastic hot pot restaurant in Hong Kong, look no further than the one I often frequent. From the moment you walk in, you'll be impressed by the decor, which has the feel of an old market with neon lights and communal tables. The ambiance is amazing, and it's apparent that the owners went to great lengths to create a unique and authentic dining experience.

The quality of the food is consistently excellent. The seafood, in particular, is always extremely fresh. The soup bases are always flavourful and have an excellent balance of spices and herbs. They have a variety of soup bases to choose from, so there's something for everyone's taste.

The service is always good, and the English-speaking staff make it easy to navigate the menu and make recommendations. I often bring guests to this restaurant, and they've all been impressed by the quality of the food, the ambiance, and the service. It's a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike.

The location is great, which makes it easy to find and convenient to get to. Overall, I highly recommend this hot pot restaurant. If you're looking for delicious food, a unique and authentic ambiance, and great service, this is the...

By far one of the worst hotpot i’ve ever eaten. So much hype but it’s all just for show.

Firstly, the food. It tastes so average. There’s really nothing special about it. The soup doesn’t taste homemade, it feels like just stock. And the meats are overpriced! No explanation to any of the justification of the price (example, is the beef wagyu hence the cost)

Secondly, the service. They have one of the worst, they kept telling us to leave at 8:30pm on the phone and when we were there, they even wrote it on a paper. The only reason they didn’t chase us off was because of how empty it was. Even when we ask basic questions, remarks were sarcastic.

Lastly, the atmosphere. Admittedly they tried to decorate the place as an old school dinning area, but it felt like they did it to attract influencers to help “promote” their restaurant.

Overall, if you would like to pay for a high price, for an awful meal, go ahead. If not, there are plenty more places to go have your meal. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Such a...
