When we stepped into Van Gogh, we almost fell in love with its peaceful, vintage vibes. Glad that I picked this place to celebrate my sister’s birthday🌃

We ordered dinner set D & set E and added $38 for the mushroom soup.

The mushroom soup was very creamy and I loved that I could taste the minced mushrooms in it. The appetiser with ham & salad tasted quite nice too, with the salad sauce as sour as I wanted it to be.

My sister had the ribs (set D). The portion was huge and the meat was very tender and nicely seasoned. It was also nicely cooked so that the meat could easily be torn off the ribs.

The roasted beef skewers (set F) was amazing! The presentation of grilling the skewers on spot was definitely a plus👍🏻 This dish was pretty exotic in terms of flavours and its colorful plating. The beef was again pretty tender to eat and it went really well the potatos and veggies on the side.

Last but not least, we both enjoyed the desserts of the night, which was a simple chocolate cake which had a dark chocolate later on top, with chocolate mousse in the middle and sponge cake...

Dining at Van Gogh Kitchen was a delightful experience from start to finish. The food was not only incredibly delicious, but also served at the perfect temperature—every dish arrived just right, with even the side vegetables piping hot and full of flavor.

The service was equally impressive, with attentive and friendly staff making the meal feel even more enjoyable. Their professionalism and warmth added to the overall experience, ensuring everything was seamless.

Beyond the food and service, the restaurant’s ambiance was a highlight. The environment was inviting, comfortable, and well-designed, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing and memorable dinner.

Overall, Van Gogh Kitchen delivers on taste, service, and atmosphere—definitely a place worth visiting for a wonderful...

The Restaurant had a very high rating on google map and open rice. On the latter, the restaurant had 373 likes which was unusually high. Yet the food is expensive and average.

Main dish are lamb and beef. Ordered medium but got something rather than rare. Even though I usually ordered my beef medium rare, I found this meat so rubbery that I could chew. Had to spit it out. Both the Lamb and beef dishes had to be re-cooked.

In case you wondered, we ordered a set for one person and a set for two. The latter was said to be for royalty, which was more expensive. The entire bill for 3 persons was $1732. Beware ! Ratings can be deceiving. I learnt a lesson and shouldn’t have suggested a bday dinner at a restaurant that I haven’t...

We went there on a Saturday afternoon and we were lucky to have a live performance private event from a nice singer at the same time. Good food and really cozy atmosphere. They have some dinner sets which are advantageous. The mushroom cream soup was really tasty. 😍 The dessert not only looked good in the design but was also really delicious! I give it only 4 stars though because the pan-fried foie gras was a bit too pan-fried and I could not feel that much the foie gras taste in it. Also for the owner, I would suggest to have some music background to suit the overall atmosphere (some piano music like Claude Debussy, Chopin or Ludovico Einaudi for example): after the live performance ended it was a little too quiet in the restaurant. 😅

We stumbled upon this quaint restaurant while looking through google maps in the area iof Sogo Causeway Bay. Saw that the rating was quite high so we took a chance and went up the narrow stairs of an old condo with a very dated elevator that beeps at the step of the 5th person. Upon entering we were surprised to find a very picturesque cafe with views or the street below and photo spots that are Van Gogh inspired. We didn’t expect much from the food but we were surprised that it was good and quite affordable as well with sets that have soup, main course, dessert and coffee or tea. I recommend coming to this place for a kind of “breath of fresh air” from Hong Kong’s bustling concrete jungle.
