食物質素好好,刺身同蠔都好新鮮,個湯略嫌無咩特色 。重點蟹蓋好正,舊魚好香烤得剛剛好,用紫菜包住食,喜之次兩人一條。
份量有啲太多,食到想嘔。店員服務 ok 每度菜都介紹清晰,環境都幾好但唔算出色。高質日式料理呢計,呢個價錢喺香港算 ok!
It was another Japanese restaurant hidden in some commercial building in Causeway Bay. Up on the 26th floor, Maizuru did not have a dandy decor, nor did it put up a huge signboard on the flank of the building, it glowed because of the quality of their food.
Both sashimi and oyster in the set were very fresh, and the crab shell was amazing. Another great dish we had was the fish - this beautiful creature was meticulously roasted and wrapped with seaweed, the way it was served was quite impressive and it was definitely palatable.
Comparing to the seafood, the soup they served was not very interesting, and except for the sushi rice, the portion of most dishes was too big...

First time around the quality was good. The lunch sushi set was around $288 for 12 pieces.
Then we went for a second time. I booked for lunch and arrived on time at 1:45, server told us to wait for a bit as he's waiting for a table to leave, we checked in every ten minutes, he told us that it will be ready soon every time. At 2:30pm, we decided to leave and just go downstairs to another Japanese restaurant. Price for the lunch set also got jacked up. To over 3xx.
They could have called us or told us to leave given the circumstances, instead they told us to wait, and left us waiting for 45 mins despite the fact that we had a booking, and lied to use that we will have...

It is not the cheapest but very good value for money for a fine dining experience. In my humble opinion, omakase is always about freshness, rareness on the ingredients, the preparations that the sushi chef spent in maximising the experience plus the chef pace in serving you each items in the omakase. Tonight I think Chef Ka have excel on pacing for all my visits to Maizuru. I always bring my own bottle and my recommendation is share the bottle with the sushi chef; this allow Chef Ka to pair perfectly on the flow and the side ingredient used...
