This izakaya is a place I've heard about before, and this time I finally got a chance to try it out. As soon as I entered, I could feel the izakaya atmosphere. The soft lights illuminated every table, creating a cozy ambiance.
While looking at the menu, the restaurant already served us wagyu sushi. It turns out that they offer complimentary wagyu sushi before 6:30 pm or after 8:45 pm in the evening. The wagyu meat was lightly seared, tender, and had a rich beef flavor with a hint of smokiness.
Grilled Wagyu Beef with Urchin is a dish where the waiter prepares the wagyu beef right in front of you using a blowtorch. They then mix it with Japanese egg sauce and wrap the wagyu slices around the rice. Finally, they top it off with sea urchin. It's a delightful combination of melt-in-your-mouth beef, sea urchin, and flavorful rice soaked in egg sauce.
Their signature dish, Tonkatsu in Layers (Triple Cheese), is always eye-catching. As soon as it arrived, I was captivated by the layers of pork enveloped in gooey cheese. Each layer can be pulled apart, and the crispy outer layer adds a nice texture. The pork melts in your mouth, and the cheese is creamy and stretchy, creating a wonderfully rich dining experience.
Fried Rice with Urchins immediately entices you with its aromatic urchin scent as soon as you lift the lid. The dish is generously filled with urchin, sakura shrimp, and fish roe. It even includes plump scallops mixed within the golden-brown fried rice. It's irresistible, and you can't help but take one bite...
Read moreWent here with my friend to meet another friend, so that I could return her Tamagochi to her 🤣. . We started from Negitoro with Japanese Scallion Sushi Roll. Topped with negitoro, scallion and salmon roe, the sushi roll was mouthful and deliciously fishy.
Then we tried Saltyaki Superior Beef Tongue. The salt seasoning was just right, and the tongue was tender. The pink salt and yuzu pepper enhanced its fragrance.
Besides, we ordered Hiroshima Oyster Stew. The oysters were plump and juicy, making the stew rich in oyster flavour. The stew contained a lot of baby cabbage in the stew too, creating a healthy combination.
Next, we had Fried Rice with Urchin. Adorned with urchin, cherry blossom shrimp, salmon roe and crab roe, the fried rice had an alluring golden appearance. All the ingredients complemented each other subtly, resulting in a tasty combination.
Additionally, we ordered Tonkatsu in Layers, which was breaded pork cutlet with triple cheese fillings. With its crunchy exterior, the pork cutlet was extremely cheesy and satisfying. Although it was a bit heavy, we enjoyed the stringy cheese.
Also, we got Tamagoyaki. Covered in okonomiyaki sauce and cheese, the Tamagoyaki had an intense aroma of egg and cheese. It had a fluffy and airy texture.
For dessert, we had Vanilla Mille Crêpe. Not very memorable compared to other dishes. . The restaurant was relatively small but extremely popular, so one better makes reservations in advance. While the prices were a bit high, the food quality was...
