Old review: Good dimsum, nice ambiance, OK service. A good choice in Causeway Bay. Updated: Back for a Sunday dimsum lunch again. Have to change my 4-star rating to a 3. Plates and bowls were dirty and needed to be replaced. Washroom was not clean. Food quality had been degraded and not prepared well. Spring rolls were very oily and not even cut through. Pork feet were cold and pure bones. On the other hand, pork rice rolls were good. Pak Lot Chiu Chow in TST is much better.

I can always count on Pak Lot Chiu Chow for quality Chiu Chow food. Nowadays, I often visit their Time Square branch for lunch. They not only offer great classic Chiu Chow dishes such as Teochew Fun Kor, Satay Beef Noodles, Oyster Porridge, or Tong Cu Mian but their Cantonese dim sum are also top-notch. It is one of those places where you can find great food, decent services, and reasonable pricing.

I usually only eat that Pak LOk Times Square which is a top notch Chiuchow place. I know because I am also Chiuchow who grew up eating homemade Chiuchow food. This is the closest to lovingly made Chiuchow food that you can get. Judy the manager (Judy 姐) at Time Square branch is the most knowledgable and helpful as she will recommend what’s seasonal. For example, we had Zebra Mussels 金不換炒薄殼 with basil and chili. The flavor was superb and mussels were fresh and plump. It reminded me of my childhood days. Judy recommended it and we needed to pre book this dish as it’s not on the menu.

BTW, their dim sum while not Chiuchow is superb also as it’s dimsum with a twist that...

Scam! Got cheated. The sizes on the menu are only small and medium. We were a table of 13. So waitress kept saying “not enough, not enough” she changed it to large without our consent. We only found out later that large is abt 3x more expensive than the medium/small.

In the end we couldn’t finish the food and ended up spending more than 8000hkd (should have been 6000+++ only)

When asked upon seeing the bill she insisted that medium was not going to be enough so she gave large. Without our consent or at least letting us know the price.

She also did not tell us large was MUCH more expensive than medium.

The restaurant is in a nice setting within Time Square. If you drive and park in the basement car park, you have to change lifts in order to get to the restaurant. It is not complicated just a bit confusing for first time visitors. The tables are well laid out with sufficient room between tables. The seats are comfortable. The service is ok but not very attentive even when the restaurant was quite quiet. We went for the food so that was the priority and it did not disappoint. All the dishes we ordered were well cook, nicely presented and tasted delicious. The sharks fin was particularly nice 😋. We would definitely visit again and...
