Pit stop bar and grill — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

The Hop House is a member of the El Grande Concepts restaurant and bar group here in Hong Kong. They are located at the Causeway Centre in Wanchai and are open from 11am to midnight (Sun-Thurs) and 11am to 1am (Fri & Sat).

This is an outdoor seating only establishment with a menu featuring a wide range of typical American bar and grill food items as well as a rather long list of import beers, including one of the largest selections of Belgian beers you'll find in Hong Kong.

We have dined here for casual meals and/or round of drinks for quite a few years now. The environs are casual and nice, especially once the weather begins to cool. The beer selection is good and prices reasonable. As for food, the ribs and nachos are pretty good and they now offer Mickey B Pizza, another El Grande Concepts restaurant just next door, which you can order here at Hop House during meals.

We recently tried the Salsiccia and Nduja pizza (HK$135). The pizza was large enough for two to share, crust was firm, slightly chewy, cheese and toppings fresh and tasty. This was a surprisingly good pizza, especially for the Wanchai district which for many years lacked anything that resembled a quality pizza offer. We were pleased with this Mickey B. pizza and will be happy to return soon for another try off of their pizza list while enjoying a round or two of drinks...

I love this place. I stop every day after work to get a beer, La Chouffe. I cannot find it everywhere. They have actually a great selection of beers. I go also every Friday to have the nachos and a pizza, the buffalina. Pizzas are definitely better than some other places that define themselves as Italian restaurants. There’s not much pubs with open area near harbour side with good price. The Hop House Pub is one of them. Besides traditional beer like Hoegaarden and Stella, they also offer some good Belgium and Germany beer. Some like floris apple definitely a good shout to the ladies that want to have some alcohol but hate the beer taste. Food there is also nice, which you can definitely share with your friend.
