During our visit to San Xi Lou restaurant, we were looking forward to a really good dim sum, but unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant experience. The customer service was extremely poor, and the atmosphere was really chaotic. Initially, the host gave us the impression that we would be seated shortly, but we ended up waiting for 30 minutes before being informed that we would have to wait another hour. If we had been informed from the beginning that the wait would be more than an hour, we wouldn't have wasted our time waiting for 30 minutes. This lack of transparency was frustrating and disappointing. Moreover, the host was very impolite and unprofessional, which added to the unpleasant experience. The host was literally yelling in Chinese and looked like he was getting upset at customers for coming to the restaurant. I'm not sure how good their food is, but I don't want to spend a dime at such a place. Overall, we were extremely dissatisfied with the service and atmosphere of the restaurant. As a result, we have decided never to go back there again. We hope that the management takes this feedback seriously and makes improvements to ensure that customers have a more enjoyable experience...

table for 2 on Sat 2pm. no need to wait and still have lots of tables.

the place was previously at Times Square and was much bigger. The staff told me she the rental contract ended the new contract was very expensive so they moved. He also mentioned despite the place was bigger but it was inefficient for them to work and tables were too far apart. it's smaller here but better, per what the staff said.

The food was average or honestly bit over priced with this quality.

I wanted to order more but the signature Char Siu Pork bun was sold out including the dessert I wanted as well... so we only ate all that I posted in the photos along with a bowl of signature fried E min which was very average.

overall, today I came because I was nearby and carrying tonnes and needed a more spacious place to dine.

it's still worth visiting/trying but not exactly worth...

San xi Lou is a Sichuan restaurant that also serves Cantonese food. During the day time you can order dim sum and on the menu they also serves classic Cantonese dishes like roast goose, braised abalone, etc.. The Sichuan food here is pretty good and is probably the best Sichuan restaurant I have eaten at in Hong Kong. My rating is based on:

Food: 4.5 stars Environment/Service: 4 stars Value: 3.5 stars

The Sichuan food here is quite authentic. You will get the heat and tingling ma la from the peppercorns in the food here. I have come here a few times for the chili oil pot fish, which I would recommend ordering. The Cantonese dishes here are also pretty good but if you are coming here I would suggest ordering the spicy dishes because you can have Cantonese food anywhere. This restaurant is pretty expensive and I would expect to pay 300-400...
