We managed to find out way inside this restaurant via a back entrance from MUJI which is within the same building. Once you get to the 3rd floor escalators, there is a lift on the right that takes you to the 5th floor.
The place wasn’t very busy when we were there but there were some groups already in the private booths that are thankfully soundproofed quite well.
There are only really set menus to order from and some special autumn festival sets available. Pricing is pretty expensive for the food you get here which is good but not amazing so keep in mind between HK400-600 per person.
The food itself was great in the 10 course set. Food was delicious and seafood tasted fresh. There was also plenty of food for the 4-6 person set menu but we didn’t each that much so if much hungrier then perhaps go for the 6-8 set.
Service staff were good helping to replace dirty plates periodically and helping move courses along by clearing plates on the turntable which I personally appreciated but some might take as them trying to rush you out. We didn’t fell rushed here.
Noise levels were find, very easy to talk and no annoying music or loud noises from the tables near us.
It was overall a good experience and I would happily visit again knowing the food quality and prices but not make a special effort now I’ve already tried the food and there are cheaper tastier options...
Read moreCame here for Yum Cha with my mother-in-law because she likes the Char Siew here. To be honest, the food here is pretty good and that’s why we come here although the food is pricier.
However, the service today was appalling. We were seated at a table by the wall and they parked a service table right in front of us. We had to watch them warm up food, clear up food and add hot water to tea pots. There was no privacy at all and we had to look at the dirty dishes they were clearing from other tables. What’s worse was the managers were arguing and talking at the top their voice while warming up food on the service table.
Next was the wait for food. We ordered the food at 12.15pm but an hour later we were still waiting for some dishes. We asked the waitress and most ignored us. Finally there was one that was attentive and tried to sort it out for us. Bless her.
They are probably short-staffed and I don’t blame the waiters and waitresses but the management should really look into this. I would not hesitate to bring visiting friends here for food because like I said the food is good, but with service like that, I definitely wouldn’t. It’ll be...
Read moreContext: we had dinner at around 8:15pm on a weekday
Price: medium (expect hkd200 - 300 per person, some of their fancier menus are for around 3000 for 6 people) (we spent 1.15k for 6 people but we were quite cost conscious when ordering)
Food: solid 4 stars. Overall tasty, nothing disappoints.
Service: 5 stars. Staff were very attentive and even refilled our tea leaves again when they noticed our tea was running out of oomph. There was one manager (?) (male, medium height, didn't remember his name) that was an absolute star! Helped recommend items, took our photos (family dinner) etc. You don't often get service like this in HK nowadays (at this price point)
Atmosphere: solid 4 stars. Obviously normally used for banquets.
Recommend menu items: Cha Siu (BBQ pork) - juicy, and succulent.
Included photos of the restaurant (strangely empty by 9:00pm) and a fun photo we took of the teeth of the fish we ate...
Edit: just had dim sum for lunch on another day. Quality is consistent with...
