Spiaggia — Restaurant in Hong Kong Island

Horrible experience. Clearly happy to exploit customers. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Sunday March 15th we went to Spiaggia. My family (4 adults and 4 children) chose this restaurant, sat down for lunch and ordered. When I arrived 10 minutes, the waiter handed me a menu. It wasn't until I arrived that the kids' menu and set lunch menu was provided at my direct requested. "We had 4 children with us and they didn't give us the kids' menu???" The others at the table were furious that they were not offered the lunch menu. I ordered a lunch set and a kid's meal for my daughter. The proportions for everyone's meal were small, the food was cold generally and I didn't get my set drink until I had to remind the waiter. The kids meal didn't come out until I had to remind the waiter. When it finally came out, the meal was spicy chicken instead of the beef and rice we ordered. He argued with me and tried to get me to accept it anyways. "How can I accept spicy chicken for a 6yr old???" He angrily took it back but then returned with the same dish saying that the beef was sold out. "How convenient?" I argued with the waiter to no avail. His solution was a free apple juice. But we still had to pay for the $72 glass of apple juice that the waiter sold my 6yr old daughter. "UNSCRUPULOUS!" In the end, my daughter had to eat a plate of cold rice and veg with while we shared our meals with her. A $2300 for a meal for 8 people with cold food and the worst service I've had in 16 years in HK.

If this is the owner reading, I told you she wouldn't eat the chicken. If you noticed the plate, all the chicken was left there, just for you. Hope you...

Despite the less-than-flattering reviews, I actually enjoyed my visits to this restaurant. I came twice: first on a quiet Monday evening and then again on Tuesday afternoon. Since they are not putting outdoor tables out these days, it was nice to have plenty of space inside with a view of the Stanley Promenade.

The glassware is beautiful, and the wine is served perfectly chilled, allowing you to savor it to the last drop. I had a tuna salad, which was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly. The owner, while appearing a bit grumpy, is clearly a skilled operator running a well-managed business.

Prices are competitive compared to other restaurants on the promenade, and you receive better quality, quantity, and value. I returned the next day for another glass of wine before leaving Stanley.

I went there with my hubby in a sunny day. The staffs were very pleasant and providing excellent service. We chose rib eye, fish n chips, fresh oyster, garlic naan bread & ordered total 5 glasses of Italian draught bee - Poretti.

Those dishes quality were above average. Fresh oysters were in a special offer as $99/6 pcs which were very fresh. I saw another table reorder the oysters as they also said those were so fresh!

This was the first time I tried Poretti draught beer, tasted so good, not the bitter type. So I believe it's a good choice for girls.

It was so nice to chill out there with nice food, comfortable place, chilled beer and the great sea view.

Price range are reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant to all tourists and HKers. We really have a lot of good restaurants which are...
