I recently had the pleasure of dining at Thai Basil located in Pacific Place. As soon as I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was immediately struck by its sleek and modern ambiance. The contemporary decor, with its warm lighting, stylish furnishings, and tasteful Thai-inspired accents, created an inviting and sophisticated atmosphere.
Thai Basil prides itself on offering a modern twist on traditional Thai cuisine, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The menu featured an array of tantalizing dishes that showcased the vibrant flavors and aromatic spices of Thailand, expertly crafted with a contemporary flair. From the moment I perused the menu, I knew I was in for a culinary journey.
I opted for the Tom Yum Fish Soup, a classic Thai soup with fish, galangal. The soup arrived at my table hot, and with the first spoonful, I was transported to a realm of delicate flavors and harmonious textures. The base was perfectly balanced with the tangy notes of lemongrass and the subtle heat of galangal.
What truly set Thai Basil apart, however, was the impeccable service that accompanied the outstanding cuisine. The staff exuded a genuine warmth and professionalism, attending to every need with a smile and providing insightful recommendations throughout the meal. From the moment I entered the restaurant until the moment I left, I felt like a valued guest, with the service seamlessly enhancing the overall dining experience.
In addition to the delectable food and exceptional service, Thai Basil also boasts an impressive selection of beverages, including a range of signature cocktails that perfectly complemented the flavors of the dishes. The knowledgeable staff were more than happy to offer their suggestions, ensuring that every aspect of my dining experience was carefully curated.
Overall, Thai Basil at Pacific Place offers a truly memorable dining experience that seamlessly blends traditional Thai flavors with a modern twist. From the elegant ambiance to the innovative culinary creations, every detail is meticulously crafted to delight the senses. With its first-class service and a menu that showcases the best of Thai cuisine, Thai Basil is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts seeking a taste of Thailand in a...
Read moreWe used to live in Hong Kong for many years then we moved abroad 5 years ago. We used to come to Thai Basil restaurant quite often.
We liked the food in Thai Basil very much. We have eaten in this restaurant quite often. The food was always delicious and very good quality. The portion was very generous (quite big).
The service was never that great but also not that bad.
Now we are on holiday in Hong Kong for 1 month to prepare for our move to Hong Kong again. Since we are staying in a hotel nearby Pacific Place where Thai Basil restaurant is, we have eaten in this restaurant again several times.
The food is still delicious, very good quality and the portion is still very generous (quite big). The menu was not the same as before anymore but still many good choices.
We realise the service is always very upsetting every time we come. The restaurant staffs are very unfriendly, unattentived and from time to time can be rude too. For example when we ask for forks & spoons, someone will give forks and knives. If we order a starter and a few main courses + steamed rice, they never bring the food in sequence accordingly. Very often they just bring main course first without even asking if we'd like to have all food together at once or the starter first. When they bring the main course, they don't bring the rice together.
They also don't prepare standard condiments that they used to have and are usually prepared by common Thai restaurants such as chili sauce, cut fresh chili in...
Read moreDelightful Thai Lunch at Pacific Place
I’ve been to this Thai spot at Pacific Place many times, and it consistently delivers. The location is super convenient, though it's wise to book in advance as it can get busy. The seating is comfortable, and while the lunch is on the pricier side, the quality of the food makes it worth it.
This time around, we enjoyed:
Chicken Fried Organic Wild Rice: A flavorful dish with chicken, organic wild rice, fresh pineapple, turmeric, and chili flakes. The pineapple’s sweetness balanced nicely with the spices.
Pad Thai Noodles with Prawn: Classic Pad Thai with perfectly cooked noodles and juicy prawns. The sauce had a great tangy and slightly sweet flavor.
Green Curry Chicken: Rich and aromatic green curry with tender chicken, Thai eggplant, and okra. The creamy curry had just the right amount of heat.
Roti Prata: The roti prata was a standout, crispy on the outside and soft inside, ideal for dipping into the curry.
Overall, it’s a bit pricey for lunch, but the consistently good quality makes it a place I keep...
