Alright service, decent decor, that's about it. Food sits somewhere between ordinary and inedible. Reminiscent of a Gordon Ramsay kitchen nightmare episode.
Ordered the camellia salad as it was heavily featured on the menu. It was a bowl of kale drizzled with beetroot juice a single strawberry and fig, a ball of flavourless gelatin and some dehydrated orange slices. The whole thing didn't taste like anything except raw kale soaked in water.
The lobster bisque was passable flavour wise but watery and not creamy at all.
The French toast is decent in the sense that it is not sweet like usual HK style French toasts. Quite light and fairly fluffy, probably the best dish we ordered. That said the ice-cream was very literally iced cream... No flavour what so ever. The apple was sliced and arranged in a rose shape which is quite nice to look at. However it was likely made by boiling it in water which also left it watery and flavourless and diabetic friendly.
All in all. Very good place for instagram. Not so...
Read moreNice floral decor. Food mediocre. Service can be improved . Don’t get me wrong , staff were attentive , they came to your table all the time , with the attitude of getting the order done ASAP or taking away your almost finished food ASAP . They were absolutely efficient , it just didn’t go very well with the vibe that this restaurant offers . “ is this finished ?” 🙄 will be asked. It almost feel like they r clocking me from the moment they put down the coffee . Indeed, I still had 1/3 cup of coffee left. Speaking of coffee , only full fat is offered . It is quite a surprise given that restaurants of similar styles are likely to offer keto or healthier or green options . When I almost finished my meal, didn’t even ask “ would you like to have dessert now ? “. It just felt like they wanna make sure they get off on time . What happened next , they put down the dish and introduce the dish without realizing the dish is wrong . It wasn’t the dessert I ordered. It was quite...
Read moreWent to Camellia in K11 on the first time during the weekend which is pretty stupid and my fault. The waiting time was almost a hour! I would like to note that their system is not good, as they have reservations but also a line. People who’ve made reservations have priority to get seated first, this doesn’t work with people that are also waiting in line. Also People are tending to stay long in this cafe so the waiting time is incredibly long. Please be prepared for that.
The cafe is very beautiful pink, I think for most girls Instagram worthy. It definitely fits “Elegant Dining”. The food tasted very very good! I didn’t expect that. It’s a little pricey but it’s definitely worth it. Drinks were also delicious!
I recommend this cafe and I will come back in the...
