Nestled in the heart of Hong Kong, Manten-Boshi HK is a culinary gem that delivers an authentic Japanese dining experience. From the moment you step through the door, you're transported to the vibrant streets of Tokyo. The ambiance is elegant yet cozy, with traditional Japanese decor that sets the stage for an unforgettable meal. Whether you're dining solo or with a group, the atmosphere is inviting and intimate. Now, let's talk about the food. Each dish is a masterpiece, crafted with precision and care. From sushi to sashimi, ramen to tempura, every bite is bursting with flavor. The quality of the ingredients shines through, and you can taste the freshness in every mouthful. One standout dish is the sushi platter, featuring a variety of expertly prepared nigiri and maki rolls. Each piece is a work of art, meticulously crafted and beautifully presented. The sashimi is equally impressive, with melt-in-your-mouth slices of fish that practically dissolve on your tongue. But it's not just about the sushi. Manten-Boshi HK also offers a range of other Japanese specialties, including hearty ramen bowls and crispy tempura. No matter what you choose, you're in for a culinary treat. The service at Manten-Boshi HK is top-notch, with attentive staff who are passionate about sharing their love for Japanese cuisine. Whether you're a seasoned sushi aficionado or a newcomer to Japanese food, they'll guide you through the menu with expert recommendations and friendly smiles. In summary, Manten-Boshi HK is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine in Hong Kong. With its inviting ambiance, impeccable service, and mouthwatering dishes, it's an experience that will leave you craving more.

Soup and salad were mediocre, so does the soufflé pancake. Beef burger was the best dish of the night, apparently they blend pork in to give its flavor. The pork cutlet omurice taste better than its dry look and waffle was the better dessert choice. The overall dining experience was disappointing: 1) last order was supposedly 9:15pm, told the staffs we would like the desserts ordered then as they have to take the dessert orders manually (others were done via the app), yet the desserts were brought out before the cut-off time, more or less together with our main dishes 2) got turn down for an empty bowl (to share the bowl of soup that the waitress just served) as the waitress claimed they only have plates. She eventually brought a bowl over, reluctantly. Overpriced for its poor attitude and average food, would not come back again.

After looking at so many Google reviews, I went to this restaurant with no expectation, and at the end it come out with no surprise. We arrived at 6pm on Saturday and waited for 40-45 mins. The food was really average and overpriced. I agree with most reviews that the dessert is better than the main dish but the dessert portion is smaller than other Japanese soufflé restaurants in Hk. We ordered one fried egg rice with hamburger and another one with steak. The steak tastes better than the hamburger. The fried crab cakes tasted very bad… do not recommend at all. If it costs HK$1xx plus no waiting line, I may come again. Otherwise, I would prefer the Korean fried egg rice more.

Date:-12 August 2025 Time:-8:10 PM I am Staying at: Marco Polo Hotel

Came here for dinner after seeing some lovely pictures online. I wish I had read the reviews first.

Fortunately, we got a table immediately. The order was taken promptly.

We ordered a chicken steak with omelette rice and curry, along with a strawberry cream soufflé. We were told the soufflé would take about 20 minutes, no problem. I figured it would be ready by the time we finished our main course. But then… the drama began. Less than five minutes later, the soufflé arrived at our table. And still, no sign of the main course. Fifteen minutes passed… and we were still waiting. Should I wait for the main or should I eat the souflei To hell with it .I was so hungry, I just gulped down the soufflé. Dessert before the main course? How is that even possible? Do these staff not have a basic understanding of the sequence in which a meal should be served? Or perhaps they simply don’t care.

That said, the food itself was amazing. The soufflé was perfect. And the main dish was equally delicious.

If only the service staff had shown a little decency and concern for the customer, this could have been a truly great dining experience.

Bottom line:: I’m not surprised that Hong Kong people are increasingly choosing to eat in Shenzhen instead of here. It’s because of service staff with this kind of attitude.

Soon, I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the talented chefs leave Hong Kong to work in Shenzhen, leaving these arrogant, indifferent servers behind, What a shame!

In the end, my compliments go to the chef. And to the service staff: consider this a polite warning. Change while you still can.

God bless us all...
