YUCK YUCK YUCK🤮

Very rude & ignorant lady that couldn’t even give us a smile when we entered. She demanded us straight as we walked in to sit down and pointed at a table with people sitting already. When there was another free. We didn’t sit. My boyfriend asked for what beers they had. Without any enthusiasm she just pointed at the (seemingly) only tap they had and said ā€œbeerā€. She made the sign for two, he said he wants one beer and she pointed at me and I said I was good without. She did not like that and promptly said ā€œtwo person two beersā€. We’ve never encountered any other pub in Hong Kong where we were refused just because I did not feel for a drink.

Very rude service and you should get rid of staff like these.

This was recommended by my father who used to work in HK 30 years ago. This place has been around for long and we had it on our to-do list. NED’S must’ve totally been downgraded since my dad’s visit during the British colony times. Now they don’t seem to care about service at all in Hong Kong due to the influx of people.

I’m glad we turned around and told her we’ll just leave with this kind of manner from her. I gave her a cold & surprising look and she just gave me multiples of them back as we left.

Really rude lady and I hope she reads this and come to Sweden and learn good service-based manner. You should help & accommodate guests - not give...

The live music is the only good thing about this place. Everything else was a letdown - the rude staff, weird performance schedule, and bad atmosphere. The way they treated us with that "no drink, no sit" attitude was just unacceptable.

Save your money and find another place in Hong Kong - there are way better options at this price.

Had a Really Bad Experience Here

Went with a friend and spent over 360 HKD on food and drinks, but the experience was terrible:

The Bad Service: Staff were super rude, kept saying "no drink, no sit" aggressively They actually kicked us out even though we were paying customers Just really unfriendly and unprofessional overall

The Music (the only good part): Amazing live band and great singers But at 9:30 PM, they only played for 30 minutes Then took a 30-minute break Didn't start again until 10.30 PM Super disappointing since we'd been waiting since 8 PM

The Atmosphere: Next table was incredibly loud Staff did nothing about the noise Didn't care about other customers' comfort at all

Money Spent: Dropped 360 HKD to be treated like this Totally not worth it for...

I had a disappointing experience at your establishment. The service from the waitresses, and this particular waitress who seemed to be Nepali(over weight, short hair with black glasses)was rude. She kept pushing us to order when we hadn’t even had 5 minutes to look at the menu.

When I was with two friends, I ordered drinks, but one friend only wanted food. The staff insisted that he must order a drink first, even after he explained he wanted to taste the food first. This went on for 3-5 minutes, which felt excessive.

Additionally, during my previous visit, we spent almost $500, yet we were still pressured to order more drinks before finishing what we already had. It feels like the only reason the business thrives is due to the musicians, not the service.

This was my second attempt at visiting, and I’m disappointed with...

Real gem. Old-fashioned and true Bar. Music, people, vibes - all is great. Top recommendation for anyone missing the genuine pub atmosphere while in Asia.

Sadly this legendary haunt has fallen on unscrupulous times. DO NOT believe the big sign out front promoting HK$59 Sapporo "all day and all night" - staff will not honour it. Expect to ask several times if you want any change. And eat before you arrive because the food is uniformally terrible. All of which is a shame because, after all, this is a fabled institution with a fun, hackneyed old-school jazz band led by ever the ever-endearing Colin. It's a memorable night out, with or without missed change and inflated bill. It's also about as far from a jazz club as you could hope to get - don't expect to hear anything remotely challenging or progressive here. Actual jazz fans should seek out the underground Chez Trente in Central while passing through. Sssshhh
