It is an average bar, beer selection is good, everything else so-so.
First, there is no burger. It’s on the menu, but whenever I try to order it they never have it. I’ve been there on a few occasions in the last few months, no burger every time.
Second, they list no prices for drafts. They show draft menu on massive screens that shine in your face, so they wouldn’t even have to reprint anything when prices change. Clearly, they are hoping that drunk people don’t realize they are paying HK$138 plus mandatory service charge, for 400 ml (that being their default, and also maximum, drink size) of bad stout.
The third downside is that they have only three stouts—all at that price point—and all are super weird: one is spicy, the other is sweet, I didn’t get to the third because c’mon.
So you can’t go there for food, you can’t go there for good choice of beer, you can’t go there to have a conversation since the space is tiny and incredibly noisy.
To become a decent beer bar they’d have to start listing prices, stop advertising food in their menu if they cannot offer it, and start carrying acceptable...
Read moreVery poor service and attention to customers. We arrived at 10pm, we were offered a sit and for the next 13 min nobody comes or brings a menu. Then what it looks to be a kind of waitress with no interest on business, stand by the table staring at us without saying a word... Then what it seems to be a kind of manager comes by the table and raised the voice asking what do we want? Making my girlfriend very uncomfortable and the whole place silent wondering what's was going on. I had to stand up and ask how was the system because for more than 10min nobody cares about us, maybe was my fault not going to the tap and serve myself. We ordered the beer with the bill and left ASAP, not knowing that a whole better place was just 5 meters away, otherwise wouldn't waste a minute there. But YES, THEY CHARGE 10% SERVICE which I wonder which service I paid for... You can see how clearly they are loosing market with the new brewery 5...
Read moreWe came here on a Friday night around 9 and it was packed but Patrick, a staff there managed to somehow accommodate and seat us within 10 mins.
This taproom has craft beers from across the world, with quite a number of Belgium and Australian ones. We had a range from ales, lagers, stouts and a sour beer described as “horse piss” cause of its sour taste. As taste of beer is subjective, I’ll still give this place 5 stars even though I preferred some beers over others (one of my friends enjoyed the horse piss drink much more than I did).
Atmosphere-wise, it can get rather noisy cos of the small (but well-designed) space but I think it’s a great vibe to chill and enjoy their beers.
The staff were friendly, especially Patrick who came over to find out what we thought about the brews and introduced upcoming ones. We booked a reservation for the next...
