🥂Weekend Brunch Time🥂
A super fancy Italian-style brunch that is sure to leave you blissful and satisfied.
Starting a gorgeous selection of appetisers, ranging from crab legs and lobsters to pizza and traditional Italian appetisers such as various kinds of ham, cheese, salads etc. Personally, I was more into their traditional Italian appetisers such as poached veal with tuna mayo and mushroom frittata, which were all well made and beautifully plated. Their seafood counter on the other hand, was only of average quality with the smoked salmon being the best-tasting item.
And of course, I must mention their dessert counter! Favourite was definitely their tiramisu. Also really enjoyed their lemon meringue tart and truffle basque cheesecake, which was a little weird but tasted surprisingly good. Their cannoli looked stunning and had great flavours despite having gone soggy.
🍝PASTAS
CAPPELLETTI DI OCA - Handmade pasta filled with slow cooked goose and pancetta with porcini mushroom sauce and truffle Delicious!! Highly recommend!! Amazing aroma.
RISOTTO AL CROSTACEI - Acquarello carnali rice with San Marzano tomato sauce, crab meat, green asparagus, Datterini tomatoes, dried garlic and urban herbs This was quite disappointing, very blend, with barely any noticeable favour or visible strands of crab meat.
🥩MAINS
ARROSTO DI FARAONA - Roasted guinea fowl filled with Prosciutto di Parma, lemon zest, thyme and mascarpone Really enjoyed its bold flavours and the guinea fowl was super tender!
MERLUZZO AL FORNO - Baked Atlantic black cod served with porcini mushrooms, fennel thyme Loved the sauce though it was a quite similar to the first goose pasta dish we had. The fish was also perfectly cooked! Personally, I am more a fan of the cod than the guinea fowl.

Read moreLast Sunday we were at Tsim Sha Tsui and we made last minute booking for 4 at Theo Mistral and glad that we got a table.
We tried the Theo Mistral at Bangkok Intercontinental Hotel 3 years ago and it was a very very lovely experience, so I have been wanting to try out the Theo Mistral in HK.
We arrived at the restaurant and my husband was very pleased with the interior deco and the spacious seating of the restaurant! The environment was very nice yet no pressure for families with little kids (like us)! The pricing was not too bad for hotel restaurant, about $500 per person and may be higher if order wine and more starters.
We ordered Cappeletti (some handmade pasta with goose meat fillings), Lobster bisque, Seafood stew, Pizza Margarita. Wow! the soup, pasta and seafood stew were extraordinary! Very very delicious! The pizza was a bit disappointing though, the dough was not cooked enough, i would expect it to be more crusty (just like the one we had in Bangkok or those we saw in the photos of the reviews), hope they can improve next time and I am sure they can haha! Although we ordered seafood, we ordered red wine (just personal preference) and the suggestion by restaurant manager was very nice!
We had Panna Cotta and Pistachio mousse as dessert and they were both lovely made! Esp the Panna Cotta, one of the best in HK.
Overall, a very happy dining experience at HK Theo Mistral. My husband and I are foodies and we are always happy to spend money for real quality food. The service and the food are nice here so we will definitely visit the restaurant...
Read moreFirst, the food. I was hoping to get to enjoy some good italian food(pizza doesn’t count), having my last enjoyable italian meal at Eataly and Babbo, both now at a prohibited destination. Unfortunately, my companions at the table didn’t share my desire for pasta, so we ordered Yellowfin tuna tartare, cod fish, “Neapolitan pizza”, and the T-Bone steak for 2 -3, and top it off with a bottle of Altomerlot, Friuli, Torre Rosazza, 2016 The pizza was delicious, (to the HK Pizza Hut crowd, please try the pizza here). The tuna tartare, and cod fish were passable for me, that is that. The wine, well, for my unsophisticated taste, I would prefer a bottle of Spanish red at Mark and Spencer at around $200,(I believe wine doesn't have to be expensive to be enjoyable). The T-Bone steak, however, was a surprise, given this is not a steakhouse. My last steak meal was at Wolfgang steakhouse and for me, the steak here is better. Texture was more tender. The steak was served with different flavors of sauces, but in my opinion, if the steak was done right, you don’t need any of those, and that was the case for me that evening. Now, the value, the price doesn’t scream for value, as expected as any western restaurant at a HK hotel. As much as I had enjoyed the steak, if not because of a special occasion, I wouldn’t have ordered it, But their pizza, while still relatively pricey, is something I would come back for. Had I treated this place as just a pizzeria, this would probably be a 5 stars. I do appreciate the quality of food and service...
