Spacious. Nice vintage decor. Great for large groups. Staff friendly and responsive. Price good (as compared with similar hotels). A wide choice of whiskey (not wine). Food so-so. Outdoor cigar-smoking area not ok.
UPDATE (13.7.2024)
Tried their whiskey for the first time.
I had strong reservation about their standard of practice, or the consistency thereof, in serving whiskey.
In serving my order for 30ml of whiskey for over $200, they didn’t show me the bottle before or after pouring it, and they turned the bottle away from me behind the bar so that I could not see it, even though I sat at the bar, ie right in front of them. It’s true that I was too relaxed at that moment to ask them to do it all over again right away.
I observed that when they served whiskey to customers at tables away from the bar, they pour it from another glass taken somewhere rather than from a bottle at the bar, let alone showing the tables any bottle or pouring it in front of the customers.
Only in my second order for a cheaper whiskey did another staff show me the bottle before and after pouring it.
Tiffany’s is selling many different types of premium whiskey. Unless customers should win all blindfold tests and can tell what they are drinking by merely tasting it, the bar should, and always should, show customers the bottles before pouring it. Even if the bar thinks that customers should trust them, unfortunately there’s not really any grounds for such trust, and after all trust can only build up over time.
I will avoid drinking whiskey there. Definitely “no” if sitting at tables away from the bar.
(Actually I also observed the unhygienic way the staff tasted cocktails repeatedly before serving. The bartender did use a new straw every time, but the manager did not and I witnessed that he put it right back into the mixing jug. It’s...
Read moreGood place physically. Racist and bad attitude. One of our clients is Indian and we asked them to visit the bar. First the staff didn't entertain them and kept asking them to wait, then they said that there's no table for 4, only high tables. The bar was 30% full. They eventually said ok we'll make a table for you. Our clients and friends said that there were plenty of Caucasian people that were fully taken care of. Not what we like to hear when we recommend a bar that we have been going to for a quite a few years.
We were embarrassed and our clients didn't appreciate that we asked them to visit here. Some of the staff were friendly, but not attentive at all. They left happy with the place ambience, but they specifically said that the drinks were subpar and the service was... Terrible. I will never recommend...
Read moreVery nice bar. Well decorated and a great place to chill after a long day. The service staffs were awesome as they attend to my request with details and service first attitude. I was so comfortable chilling out the night soaking in the nice pub atmosphere on a very comfortable Italian style leather sofa. My ask is to consider some snacks to go with the drinks. Yeah, I know this is an American concept bar and no harm to go with abit of Italian culture with complimentary snacks to go...
