As Aussie tourists on a quest for the ultimate beef offal experience, we eagerly ventured to this hidden gem, thanks to recommendations from a bunch of YouTubers. Tucked away in the deli section on the third floor of a local market, far from the usual tourist haunts, we were ready for an authentic, non-touristy dining adventure – you know, where the locals go.
Now, let me tell you, this place was so exclusive, it had its own queue! Okay, it was the only stall with a queue, but still, we arrived fashionably early at 11 am, and there it was – a short line forming. The beef offal, however, didn't quite hit the mark for us. And let's talk about the customer service, or lack thereof. When I asked for some cutlery, the owner casually pointed towards a holder, basically saying, 'Help yourself, mate.' Little did I know, it's a sacred tradition that only one pair of chopsticks and one spoon are allowed per order. No signs, no warnings. So, in my ignorance, I grabbed two of each, and all hell broke loose. The stall owner practically ninja-snatched the spoon from my hand, and we got the death stare of a lifetime from a disgruntled elderly local lady nearby. She mumbled (perhaps not mumbling) something about "One order of course only one chopstick" in cantonese throughout the entire meal. I mean, who knew locals were so protective of their utensils? Note to self: one set of utensils per order. Lesson learned, the hard way.
Honestly, I'd advise steering clear of this joint. There are plenty of other beef offal stalls with way better customer service and a much friendlier vibe. Our experience here? Let's just say it was as unpleasant as biting into a raw organ – unexpectedly raw and a bit too 'authentic' for our liking. Now, don't get me wrong; every other eatery we hit up during our trip was a delight, but this one? Well, it was a memorable experience, to say the least. Memo to self: not every local gem shines as bright as...

The Offal Combo with White Radish with MOP 65 (which is about $12-13 AUD)
I came here after hearing great things, and it absolutely lived up to the hype! You can hear the iconic "snip-snip" of the owner's large scissors from down the street, a sound that promises an authentic, lively street-food experience.
The owner's skill is incredible to watch. The offal is braised to perfection—incredibly flavorful, tender yet with a satisfying chew, and perfectly clean with no gamey taste whatsoever. The taste and texture are simply impeccable.
But the real star of the show, which I have to emphasize, is their chili sauce! It is the perfect finishing touch. It's fragrant, has just the right amount of heat, and instantly elevates the rich flavors of the offal. Eating it without the chili sauce...
