To fellow travelers seeking to try Peking duck… this place is hard to describe. It’s like visiting a cheap banquet hall. The staff doesn’t speak any English but were willing to mime. Overall, they didn’t seem interested in serving us. Nonetheless, we ordered a full duck (198 yuan) which was plenty for two people. The food itself is good but I can see how it could be much better. This seems to be an economical way to try Peking duck, we didn’t know any better just found it on the map. If we were to do it again, we would order a half duck and sides. It’s a very monotone meal.
This is a no frills place, they l literally bus tables with a gross smelling cart right beside you while you’re eating… but you can indeed get some relatively tasty duck at a price that won’t destroy your wallet. Worth a shot if you like to live life on the edge…

We had a whole duck and it was better than the famous Quanjude Peking Duck restaurant in Beijing. A whole duck was 158 Yen which was an incredible price considering the quality and the whole experience of having roasted duck carved at your table. No one was pretentious, and it was only locals in the restaurant, as far as we could tell. This is the place to go if you want roasted duck in Shanghai. It is worth a...
Read moreIt's a pity that a place that boasts such a long history and is appreciated by so many people is reduced to this. Peking duck is quite good, but definitely not among the best I've ever eaten. The service is friendly, but the younger waiters are all the time chatting and giggling among themselves and shouting things across the room to each other. When they clear the table, they simply throw the dishes into the plastic trays of the trolley, making a lot of noise without any attention. No wonder some of my dishes were chipped. At one point, a mouse ran across the hall. I...
