Chingada Gastro Bar — Restaurant in Cartagena

Our first dinner in Cartagena was absolutely not enjoyable here and we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Got my order wrong, no problem, mistakes are allowed. Staff doesn't speak English so communication was difficult. Then got my dish half an hour after my party had already received their food and had finished it. The entire restaurant had their food before I got mine, while we were the first to order. Strange.. You would think that if an order is recorded wrong, you would correct it as soon as possible with the customer... I also found a PIECE OF PLASTIC IN MY FOOD. (Possibly from a pre-packaged slice of cheese?) I kindly reported this to the staff, which they took and walked away to the kitchen without a surprised look and/or apology. No discount or nothing received and that wouldn't have bothered me either, but an apology would have been...

Go here if you want to waste your time and get swindled. Extremely poor service and unacommdating wait staff. We ordered chicken tacos and French fries and 30 minutes later they had not come out. I reminded the waiter who looked at us like she was doing us a favor putting the order in. It then took another 15 minutes for the tacos to come out even though the place was empty. The waiter asked if I wanted another beer which I accepted but that never came. 15 minutes later we were still waiting for the French fries and reminded the waiter again, who then said she’d put in our order. 20 minutes later the fries had not arrived and we got up and left. Went for a late lunch and decided on the seafood rice based on a review and the servers recommendation. It is NOT good. The rice was hard, the crab is imitation, the clams had zero flavor, the shrimp was also bland and the mussels were somehow under and over cooked at the same time. The entire thing tasted like cilantro. Too much cilantro! And I like cilantro 😏. Too much red bell pepper. I told the server it wasn’t good. She was apologetic. Waste of $10 (rounded)
