The cafe is pleasant and nice, the service was friendly.
I ordered a cafe latte, and the croque madam with orange juice from their brunch menu. The coffee was delicious, the orange juice was cool and tasted fresh.
The croque madam.... Well I'm not sure if the chef actually made one before or not. It was beautifully presented and it had the potential to be more. But in the end it was a failure.
The bread wasn't toasted or grilled, just sliced and room temperature at best, the ham and the cheese in the sandwich were refrigerator cold. There was no bechamel sauce on the sandwich, the only thing hot was the egg on top.
I have had croque madams in other cafes, bistros, and restaurants before in various cities and countries. This wasn't a croque madam, it wasn't even fully what was advertised or described on the menu either.
Disappointing for a place advertising as a French bistro. It doesn't encourage me to come back And try other things on the menu.
I honestly wish I was more assertive in expressing my disappointment to the staff or than stating I didn't really enjoy it and couldn't finish it because it was...
Read moreMan - it pains me to write this because I try not to write negative restaurant reviews, but the food was really bad.
The filet mignon was one of the worst dishes I’ve had in 10 years. The alleged Demi-glacé tasted like pure ketchup, the filet mignon was cooked to well done, and yet the bacon wrapping it managed to be undercooked, which honestly is a feat of culinary magic if you think about it.
They were also out of so many dishes on the menu. They didn’t have either of the dishes on the menu we had wanted as our first choice (the salmon nor the entrecôte steak) - they were out of creme brûlée.
Overall: have you, dear review reader, been to France? If not, have you had reputable French food at one point in your life? If yes, if you’re coming into this meal with a reasonable baseline understanding of what makes good food (or hell - if you’re not a fan of overcooked steak served with ketchup masquerading as filet mignon), look elsewhere, this isn’t the spot.
The only redeeming factor was the service - excellent lovely service that was attentive, polite, and wonderful. 5 stars there. Didn’t make up...
Read moreOutstanding flavors, well seasoned, very balanced flavors, so far my best meal in Medellin!! Absolutely no extra seasoning needed.
My wife had an onion soup, good presentation. I tried salmon croquettes with a sauce. The croquettes were crunchy outside with a nice salmon filling. The sauce complemented the dish
For main dish I had lamb legged confit with fresh mash potatoes in a delicious slightly sweet sauce. Well balanced, the meat fell of the bone, not mushy, the sauce with the potatoes and lamb was the perfect byte. My wife had a shrimp risotto. The shrimp , vegetables and risotto were well balanced, great flavors. For our taste the risotto was a little too Al dente, but it did not detract from the flavors. (Only a mouth feel small gripe).
For desert we shared a chocolate mouse. Great texture with full chocolate flavor . Great mouth feel and a great finish for a great meal. ( they had other desserts like crème brûlée for those that prefer something other than...
