WAN – A Disappointing Culinary Experience
As a dedicated foodie, I always seek out new dining experiences with an open mind, hoping to discover hidden gems. Unfortunately, WAN proved to be a complete disappointment from start to finish.
Service: Unwelcoming and Rude
The experience started on the wrong foot with the host and captain displaying an appallingly rude attitude. Instead of a warm welcome, we were met with a lecture on the restaurant’s conditions and restrictions, making it feel more like an interrogation than a dining experience. Hospitality is key in any establishment, and WAN failed miserably in this regard.
Food: Cold, Bland, and Poorly Timed
When it comes to food, a restaurant must deliver on temperature, flavor, and timing—WAN missed all three marks.
Several dishes arrived cold, completely ruining their intended texture and flavor.
Some dishes were shockingly bland, lacking any seasoning or depth.
The timing was completely off, with plates arriving at different intervals, leaving some guests waiting while others awkwardly started eating.
Health Concerns: A Serious Red Flag
To make matters worse, one of my dining companions ended up with food poisoning, a clear sign of poor hygiene and food handling practices. This alone is enough reason to warn others to stay away.
Final Verdict: Not Worth Your Time or Money
With so many outstanding dining options available, WAN is simply not worth the visit. Between the disrespectful service, lackluster food, and potential health risks, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place. There are far better alternatives where you can truly enjoy a meal without the risk of ruining your night—or...

The good: Great ambiance (feels like you’re in a dojo), great decor, and music. Our server Juan was very attentive. The presentation of some of their signature drinks was creative and original (though the cocktails ranged in quality).
The bad: My friend and I were seated at a table and ignored for 20 minutes. The manager then came to us and said we’d have to relocate to the bar because they needed to form a larger table for another party and that we’d be “more comfortable there.” After 20 minutes at the bar, we were offered a table and moved there. At this point, no food had been served.
We started with the Wan appetizer plate - two of the small dishes were wonton like and overly deep fried and dry (like something you can get for $12 in Little Tokyo, LA) and the salmon and ahi tuna were just average and the accompanying lacked flavor. The grilled octopus plate with finger potatoes was next. We couldn’t finish it because it was drowning in some kind of aioli sauce. Their honey ceviche was last and it was just okay.
The drinks were all over the place. I liked my drink (can’t remember name but it comes in a wooden flask and “fireworks”) but the Hana o Mate didn’t have any distinctive flavor (it was also served with a giant plastic straw that kept falling out of the glass). My friend’s was incredibly sugary that it had to be watered down.
4/10. For $135 in Colombia, you get more bang for your...
