I recently visited Envy Rooftop with a friend, an outing I had initially perceived as a pleasant deviation into opulence. The bar has always been renowned for its luxurious ambiance and premier service. However, our experience sadly meandered far from the reputable standards it ostensibly proclaims.
Upon placing our order, opting for what could be considered 'modest' in a place of such caliber, we were met with a visibly surprised and ostensibly judgmental reaction from our waiter. Rather than maintaining the expected professionalism, his unsolicited comments and bewildered expressions emanated discomfort and unwelcome, a stark contrast to the inclusive and respected feeling one should anticipate at any establishment.
Moreover, the quality of the beverages served was significantly subpar. My lemonade harbored a rotten lemon, a sight and taste unmistakably unpleasant. One would ponder whether this was an inadvertent mistake or, quite disconcertingly, a deliberate act - a thought that, in itself, is quite unnerving.
Our interaction with the staff plummeted further when our waiter intrusively asked my friend for the time, a question that subtly yet transparently hinted at an unspoken wish for us to expedite our departure. Such a tactic to expedite turnover is, quite frankly, distasteful and demeans the dignity of customer service.
The payment process did not redeem the evening either. The waiter presented us with a card reader displaying the payment amount without extending the courtesy of showing us a detailed receipt first. When we sought to pay separately, his reluctance was evident, an additional layer to an already tainted experience.
Our evening at Envy Rooftop was eclipsed by an unexpected and profoundly disappointing service experience that has inevitably clouded our perception of the establishment. It is my hope that no other guest encounters such a...

Let me start by saying it wasn’t a crazy busy at the time when this happened. My friend arrived around 12:20 to meet and another friend for drinks. Immediately we ordered a vodka soda and a mojito. These were two drinks that my other friend and I had been drinking already. 10-15 minutes go by and still no drinks. The server come by and remembers that he’s supposed to get our drinks. He leaves and goes to the bar. Another 10 minutes go by. And at this point we see him delivering drinks to a table next to us who had ordered after us! So now we’re angry. He comes back a third time and because of the language barrier we’re using Google translator to Communicate effectively. When he finally understands he brings us the drinks we’d been waiting now 40 minutes for! However the two drinks that as I mentioned above we had been drinking the whole night and now become to completely differently made drinks! So of course we don’t feel the need to pay and we ask for the manager! Oh Diego! If you have a problem trust me that the manager Diego will NOT fix it! Instead of saying that he will remake the drinks or he will do whatever he can to make it right and giving it to us on the house he claims that we lied about how long we had been waiting! Like seriously?! Why would we have to lie? His server just never put our order in! So instead of the server coming clean or just believing us he decides to hurt his business! The view is amazing at this place I will say that! But that is all that is good. So if you do anything. Come for the view take a few photos and LEAVE! Do not buy anything and do not trust the managers to fix it if...
Read moreSo I've been to fancy nightclubs before. I know what to expect. I went to Envy a couple of times; once on a date with my girlfriend, once getting bottle service with a group from my office and once just on a night out with a buddy. Each time I made sure to be friendly to the staff, tip and drop some coin. However, the last 3 times I've been there we got rejected at the door, which I thought was weird because we came in small, well dressed groups: Each time we brought good looking girls - not hookers, just normal well dressed paisas Each time we came ready to spend some money We came early in the night or on off nights There's a balled doorman who turned us away a couple of times, never in a friendly "Hey sorry, please come back another time" manner but gave us the "Get the hell outta here gringos" treatment, in Spanish, the staff there doesn't speak English. Also, the times I was there socializing with the other clubbers, there was always hookers around. I totally expect hookers in the shitty, little lawn chair, filled bars in Lleras but in the city's supposedly most upscale nightclub? If you are a celebrity looking for Medellin's most posh club or planning on dropping a million pesos on bottle service or already have a room there (for $260 USD a night!), you'll probably enjoy yourself. Otherwise save your money. Despite the beautiful club, high prices and prime location, it's really just your typical rude Colombian...
