I don’t understand the hype of this place. We ordered soup, a pitta and a Del día and we waited for an hour and 45 mins for it. That was with us leaving early as well. The Del día consisted of cold, pre-boiled spuds (not even reheated), small amount of rice, pre-prepped side salad, an average avacoda and flash fried beef which took ~5mins to cook. There were a total of about 10 people in the restaurant and most of them had already been served. I don’t know how they managed to take that long to cool that food. The pitta was extremely low par, stale, hard, dry, no sauce and fairly inedible. A spider climbed out of it at one stage, which we were actually happy about because we could then send it back. The place is also very expensive for the type of food being served, having doubled in price in the last couple of years. This was the most expensive Del día I have bought in Colombia and also the worst. Really disappointing as we were looking forward to a good Colombian meal to finish of our time in Salento and this place is rated...
Read moreBest food in Salento… some of the best in Colombia. We ate here 3 days in a row. After 3 weeks in Colombia and having mostly bad food, this place was incredible. You must get the menu of the day. The pumpkin crema is to die for. I recommend the chicken or trout as the entree. The chef (Alejandra) is an absolute star, she cooks everything, runs the restaurant, talks to customers, etc. and does it all perfectly and is super friendly. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a dining experience this much, and just last week we ate at Carmen in Medellin. Of course that was fancier, but this was more memorable and personal. Oh, also be careful of the hot sauce. It is...
Read moreService is incredibly slow. It took them 45 minutes to put a bottle of water and a glass of lemonade on our tables. Food (a pita bread) arrived after more than an hour. We, a couple with a child, ordered two portions of pita. The waiter apparently only wrote down one pita. Nowhere in the process did he ask us if this is actually how little food we want to consume. Needless to say that when we received our food it was to late to order another pita. Our 2 year old could not wait another 70 minutes. The hygienic conditions might raise an eyebrow: the toilet is basically in the back half of the kitchen. That being said, the food was good, better than in many Colombian...
