My friend and I booked for a fixed menu dinner for two on 31 December. We wanted to make sure I would have a good vegetarian meal for the last dinner of the year. We asked when booking and were reassured it was fully vegetarian. The vegetarian option was 80.000 vs the 65.000 for the other fixed menu with meat.
When the main dish came at the table, IT HAD TUNA in it. On top of it, they explained I ATE TUNA in the starter, as the TUNA oil was used to cook the mushrooms soup. The chef came out to explain we should have asked for her explanation beforehand and she would have warned us, but we had already asked when booking. They replaced the dish with salted vegetables, but we left as anyway the quality of the meal was not what we hoped. Their explanation was that we had to understand because they were the only restaurant doing this veggy service for Dec. 31, which was not true.
On top of this, they never brought the water we ordered and they served the dessert together with the main dish, so the bunuelo was completely cold.
They didn't charge us for the vegetarian meal, but still I find unacceptable they made me eat TUNA without me knowing, after...
Read moreI ate dinner at Kaldi Restaurante in Salento, and the food was very good.
The inside of the place is cute and charming, they have balcony seating overlooking the street, and everything was clean and tidy.
The food is traditional Colombian - beans, fish, chicharrón, rice, and soups. Everything I tried was great and reasonably priced.
My only complaint was the service. My friend and I were the only two customers and they forgot his dinner! Like, out of two meals, they made one and forgot the other! They kept us waiting a long time, and when we asked for something - he wanted to order an extra side of rice - we were told to wait every time. Could we get the check? Wait. Could we have our drinks? Wait! It felt like a joke, as there were three people working and just two customers...
Despite the service, the food was so great, I'd come again. Maybe they were having an off night. Maybe they had some family emergency. Who knows.
Definitely worth checking out. Just be ready to wait, and enjoy...
Read moreI ordered the grilled chicken menu which was around 30'000 peso. A while after ordering i was asked if they "pleaaase" could serve the menu with pork meat, as they where out of chicken meat. Alltough I prefer chicken meat I agreed, because I didn't want to make it complicated for them. While the meat was okay, the french fries where not edible, as they where soaked with liquid. In the end I ended up paying 44'000 peso for the menu instead of 30'000 and including the coca cola and an involuntary service fee of 10% I paid around 53'000 peso in total, which was defenitely not worth it. I felt like the restaurant was taking advantage of me not speaking spanish, which made it impossible for me to complain. Defenitly not recommending this...
