Oh boy.... We made a booking for a private room with a private bathroom. Upon arrival, man at the reception said that there was no record of our booking and told us that "our" room had already been given to someone else. After some 15min he realized that we had indeed made a booking, but there was no room for us. Instead, he offered us to stay in one of the dormitory rooms (that were available at the moment) and said that we would get a shared bathroom that was outside the room and that we would be the only ones that could use it, so in his words it was a private bathroom. That was not true, since we had to share the bathroom with several people. Now, I don't mind hostels, but when travelling as a couple and paying for a private room, this was not acceptable. They didn't want to cancel the booking so we could find an appropriate room, they suggested that we cancel the booking (which was non-refundable). When we said we would call booking.com to resolve the problem, they begged us not to. At one moment, the manager came to help, but she was a little bit drunk so gave up quickly. They said that our room would be available the next day, so once again we had to pack our stuff, leave them in the storage area (kitchen) and check in again the next day. The new room was, 2x2.5m with a bathroom that was 1x1,5m. The bathroom consisted of a showerhead placed above the toilet (no sink). Room had two doors and only one of them could be locked (with a piggie bank padlock), the other door was a shed door that needed to be ''secured'' with a metal hook. To be fair, they offered us a discount (in the amount of 3$, which was the difference between dormitory room and a private room) and gave us free towels.
The porch outside the room was nice, with...
Read moreThe owner/manager (?) allowed me to stay with my 5 month old puppy. She agreed that it could be free in the yard as long as I was watching her. It turns out that her son, who I was not aware would be there running around freely (including going into my room) is scared of dogs. After a few days of being there, her son saw my dog from afar and screamed in fear. The dog was nowhere near him. The owner came out and yelled at me. Then proceeded all further communications with me through the receptionist, refusing to speak with me directly. I was instructed to keep the dog on a leash, which was not our original agreement. I decided to leave the next morning and find other accommodations in Salento. This situation was handled so unprofessionally and immaturely. Edit: Not sure why you're blatantly lying in your response. How is this going to help your business in the long run? Treat...
Read moreVery unhappy with this place. We booked the big bed, which only meant a big bed, it was squashed in a tiny room, hardly space to move around the bed. And the bed was horrible, huge hole in the mattress, very soft foamy layer on top of two single mattresses, gave me back pain. The room smelt mouldy and the tap in the bathroom was loose, needs fixing. The worst was that the room was right under reception and there is zero noise insulation, we heard every step and voice, like they were in the room with us, until late into the night, very unpleasant. Especially when you want to get up early for a hike! The kitchen is very very basic, some pots, hardly any utensils, and the stove does not work well. And finally, on HostelWorld it mentions you can pay with card at the property, this is not true, only cash. I really wish we had stayed somewhere else and would not recommend this...
