The Corner House Hostel — Hotel in Quindío

The place is nice to stay! But don't go here, the employee is very unfriendly.

The downpart really is the employee that 'welcomed' us. We had some delays with our bus journey, which resulted in us arriving later than planned. We really could not do anything about this and also informed the staff before arriving about us being delayed. Yet the unfriendly employee had the audacity to not once, but twice complain about us ariving later and that he had 'such a bad night sleep' because of us?! He even sarcasticly said that 'you know the check in time is untill 9:30 pm'. We did in fact not know and we already informed the employee about us ariving later (which he agreed upon and told us to just message him when we are there).

The employee really does not seem to enjoy his job. I think it is super unprofessional to complain towards a costumer about them arriving late and how that affects your night sleep. For me it's the way he said it that just does not sit right with me.

Apart from this unpleasant experience I did like the hostel. The facilities are good! Also the location...

Cold water in the early morning. In the afternoon the shower changes between burning hot and ice cold. Except from outside no place things in the shower. At the reception/shower area it stinks like someone has vomited, coming from the 8/6 dorm room. Receptionist blames the wooden floor which is not really probable. Locker is just available in 14 Bed dorm, not at 6 or 8 bed dorm. There is also no locker room to put stuff, will be kept at the reception. WiFi is really bad. Probably the worst is the unhelpful and unfriendly receptionist. I met travellers that were already complaining about him and even left the hostel because of him. Reception is not open 24/7 and so is the door where you need a key for. If it wasn't the last hostel with free beds during my stay, I wouldn't go...

The mattresses are used up, you'll roll in a hole. No Glas windows, just wooden shutters so it's loud and cold. +they give you a second blanket if you ask and it's OK with earplugs. Very old building with wooden floors, so everytime someone is walking in the room you feel your bed shaking. The showers and toilets are open on the top and directly next to the stairs and reception. So no privacy. At the reception in the morning and evening loud Musik playing. Smoking only downstairs in front...
