Posada Mamalí — Hotel in La Fortuna

Nice cozy place. Yaudieth and her family rent out the back of their house. There's 3 bedrooms and an open hangout and kitchen area.

The room was nice and cozy. Bed was nice. They have a mosquito net. They have a place to hang clothes and put your suitcase. They have WiFi.

There's no door for the bathroom, it's just behind a wall. But still nice. Good shower. Sink was a bit small.

Hangout area is quite nice. They have hammocks, rocking chairs, and benches.

They have a fridge, stove, dishes, and a sink if you need it.

They have cards and dominos if you want to play.

They are a short walk from downtown. A 5-7 minute slow walk will get you to 2 laundry mats, multiple stores, restaurants, touring places, and more.

They have their own mini Mart - Super Sinai Market - at the front. They sell many chips, drinks, ice creams, medicines, and more.

My only complaint is that their 2 guard dogs did not like me. They always ran up to me, started barking, and someone had to get them off of me. My wife didn't have this issue, nor did any of the guests. So it shouldn't be a...

I stayed at Posada Mamalí for a week while I was traveling through Costa Rica. It was one of my favorite places I stayed the entire trip! Yau and her family are extremely kind and accommodating, and will provide everything you need for a nice and comfortable stay. The home is located in a nice, quiet, and safe neighborhood only a 5 minute walk from the main plaza in Fortuna. The rooms were extremely comfortable and had nice fans to help combat the humidity you may have in Costa Rica. They cleaned the rooms a couple of the days which was very nice and not expected. The kitchenette was also a very valuable benefit as I could cook my meals and save some money.

Overall, I highly recommend staying here. If you want a truly authentic Costa Rican Rican expierence, with a wonderful local family this is your place!
