One of the best restaurants in Quepos and possibly, our visit to Costa Rica. We went on a weekday afternoon at about 4 pm. It was rather slow so we managed to get a table overlooking the dock. We ordered three appetizers over main courses since they seemed promising, and wow...they sure were!
We got the stuffed avocado seafood supreme, the seafood ceviche, and raw steak tuna. The tuna..my god, it was so tender and basically melted in your mouth. The ceviche was on point with what ceviche is supposed to taste like and generous portions of fish and shrimp were included in the mix.
As for cocktails, we got several guaro sours!
What topped off this meal was without a doubt the sunset view. You'll see the birds fly across the landscape as the sun begins to go down over the horizon. It was truly a breathtaking moment and one I will never forget. It brought me to tears to be able to witness such beauty in a beautiful country such...
Read moreI don't see why this restaurant has such a high rating. I was on a boating/snorkeling guided trip earlier today, and the fish they cooked on the boat (for lunch included in the trip) was tastier than the Snapper I had at this restaurant. The Snapper with angel hair pasta dish was ok, but too salty and by no measure worth the money I spent on it. My wife's medium-rare filet mignon was more chewy than this $40USD steak should be. Her whole dish was too salty to be enjoyable, including the vegetables and the fries. Our banana desert was bitter! Even the bananas themselves were very bitter with no hint of sweetness that you would expect from bananas. They were floating in some kind of bitter sauce, and only the ice cream was good. So why 2 stars? Because the ceviche was great! It seemed to have every type of seafood represented in it (except fish). I highly recommend you try...
Read moreExcellent food and service with an impressive view, but you're paying for it! The old adage you get what you pay for is 100% true at Gabriella's. Our dinner for 2 was over $100 for us (I'm not sure if I've ever spent that on a meal for 2), but it was worth it. Definitely not for a quick cheap bite, but if you're looking for that fancy dinner splurge or are consistently a high roller, this is an excellent choice. Dixon was our waiter and was very attentive and exactly what you expect at a high end establishment. We ordered the wow wow shrimp appetizer (highly recommend), the octopus (recommend - but it's very filling), and the lobster tails (highly recommend). Food and service...
