An Unforgettable Culinary Experience at SOL Tapas na hrvatski
During my trip to Zagreb, I did something unprecedented: I dined at the same restaurant two nights in a row. SOL Tapas na hrvatski exceeded all expectations, transforming what appeared to be a casual tapas bar into a haven of innovative Croatian cuisine.
On the first evening, we indulged in a variety of cold and warm dishes, each a testament to traditional flavors presented with modern creativity. The service was impeccable; attentive staff ensured our glasses were never empty and provided insightful explanations about each dish.
After a disappointing experience elsewhere the following night, returning to SOL was an easy choice. The staff recognized us and welcomed us back warmly, enhancing our dining experience with personalized wine recommendations and exceptional hospitality.
The cocktails were refreshing and inventive, complementing the culinary delights perfectly. After I posted about SOL Tapas on my Instagram, the team responded with heartfelt gratitude, which shows their passion for creating memorable experiences for their guests.
I can’t recommend SOL Tapas na hrvatski enough. For anyone visiting Zagreb, it’s a must-visit for authentic Croatian flavors, creative dishes, and top-tier service. This is a restaurant everyone needs...
Read moreWell, this is a place that Zagreb has been missing. Quality/price ratio is excellent, I dare to say that this is fine dining experience in a form of tapas. Mind blowing taste, fantastic wines, great staff and most important personal touch of the owner. We came in rather late and were welcomed by Mate, so we decided to give him decisioning power both on food and the wine. And it was the right decision :). Mind blowing gnocchi with slow cooked “pasticada” style beef, salty profiterole with smoked trout and cheese, boskarin beef tatar steak, arancini with skradinski risotto (famous croatian risotto slowly cooked for 10 hours and more), everything was amazing including the dessert (local croatian traditional layered cake in a form of a big oreo cake, nice twist :)). All in all, really glad we have this in our city, interior is cosy, not to fancy, atmosphere great and the food is excellent. In terms of pricing: 4 courses of salty tapas (and every plate is for two people, comes in 2 or 4 pieces of tapas), one course of sweet tapas, 3 glasses of wine, bottle of water, around 50eur total for two persons and amazing...
Read moreWe ordered the tasting menu along with an additional octopus salad and trout in puff pastry.
While the tasting menu didn't particularly excite me, and I felt the price-quality ratio was not quite justified, the à la carte dishes we tried stood out.
The octopus and trout were exceptionally well-prepared, showcasing the chef's skills. Unfortunately, the traditional dishes like Štrukle and Vienna Schnitzel fell short of my expectations. The highlight of the tasting menu for me were desserts.
Additionally, I was impressed by the way the servers were educated to present the food and enhance the overall dining experience. It added a layer of professionalism and care to the meal. Also, big kudos for the option of tap water as part of the service!
Overall, the restaurant offers a pleasant dining experience, but the tasting menu could benefit from some refinement to truly match the atmosphere and service. For those dining at "SOL Tapas na hrvatski način" I would recommend exploring the à la carte options for a more...
