Main Square Residence — Hotel in City of Zagreb

PLEASE PLEASE DON'T MAKE A MISTAKE BY STAYING AT THIS RESIDENCE. It was a nightmare for us 3 ladies who are in their mid 50s traveling all the way from Nepal to Croatia to dream destinations with so much of excitement and they had to destroy our holiday for us on a first day. We booked through Expedia 2 months ago for 17th and 19th may which we paid online 240 euro and the day we arrive this guy at the reception says they dont have a room for us at first then he realized it was booked but by mistake they didn't write it at all, he was very rude to my friend when she asked he even told us to leave saying we are in Croatia and he even threatened us when we questioned him about our bookings. We didnt know where to go so we decided to take a room which he offered but not the Suite we booked. Anyway next day we were out whole day sightseeing coming in and out of the room and dropping keys where we were told to drop them to clean the room. Meanwhile we complained of not having a hot water to shower and coffeemachine didn't work at all and our room was over heated we couldn't control the temperature since we wanted AC but they did not help us at all and they also didn't clean the room. Btw we went out for dinner by the time we returned around 11pm main door of the building were locked, so we couldn't get in, desperately we tried to ring each door bells and fortunately there was this lady living on the top floor who came to our rescue. But sad we didnt get our keys from the black box where we dropped them earlier, it was empty and we tried calling them and there were no answers from the phone number that they had written for us to call. So finally we called the police to help us and they couldn't do much to help us, we went looking for a hotel around 2am but we couldn't get any.. Anyway this God sent Angel who is so kind offered us to stay at her apapartment, so we ended up sleeping on the floor which we were so grateful for, she was a blessing in disguise for us last night. What would we have done without her, just the thought makes me goosebumps. Anyway we got up early morning and waited for them to come to reception and they only came around 10am and did not oppalosize at all instead told us they will give us 3 breakfast for free, OMG I almost lost it then. So I don't Understand why so many people give them a star, they don't deserve it rather it should be shut down.. I hope my preview can help you decide. Thanks for reading.. Do not wish this to...

You've got to be kidding me? You are making money out of this messy, smelly, awful, and HORRIBLE place so called a residence/hotel??? We stayed there 2 nights Oct.7th-Oct 9th 2018 and they changed our room 3 times, because we could smell the SEWER all over the place.... The building is super old, ugly and has no charms at all. It was way different in reality than the pictures they put on their website. They are also going through some renovation which made our stay even worst.... All in all, this place was probably the most disgusting place, we have ever stayed and made us really disgust our time in Zagreb. BTW, NO Elevators and it is a real hassle going up and down the stairs with all the luggage... *Honestly I believe most of these good reviews were written by...

Good place to stay in Zagreb. You get a place in the very center of the city. Rooms are designed as small apartments - you have a kitchen here, for instance. Also clean and without any smells. The building itself has some history going back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire times. Maybe that is why the rooms are also designed as if it were 1909 :-D Disadvantages: no elevator, 3 keys - you have to fight through 3 doors on your way to the room, big facade renovation going on right now - you have a huge construction site right out of your window, noisy...
