SHOCKINGLY BAD SERVICE — Please do not spend your quality time or money here. There are so many better options which meet the bare minimum requirement for having a pleasant time with your friends / family. The employees here will NOT make you feel welcome even at the most basic level. For additional context and for reference, I have attached the booking request where you can see we dined in for a very special occasion on this evening which was not once acknowledged by our server or anybody working at the restaurant. Putting the special occasion aside for now, here are 3 of the BASICS (bare minimum) which this establishment got very wrong tonight:

The server wasted for too much time trying to look / seem busy — never making any effort to make our party feel welcome or settled. Anytime he was present at the table, it felt like he had somewhere else that he needed to be. We ordered our drinks and main courses at the same time. When the drinks were delivered relatively quickly, we requested some bread for the table. The bread never arrived. This was the start of a disaster. Our main courses took 25+ minutes to be plated in front of us and there was NO apology forthcoming for a delay even though the restaurant was not nearly close to full capacity.

This was by far the worst detail of our experience — during the lengthy wait for the main courses, we saw our server wander around the main inside room of the restaurant. Seated close to the front of the restaurant outside, it was clear that our server was not tending to any other tables as we had a clear view across the restaurant. We had finished our drinks and would have liked more as we waited — as well as following up on the request for bread.

We used the buzzer on the table ONCE. We used the buzzer on the table TWICE. For a third time, we used the buzzer on the table and at this point grew increasingly frustrated as it was clear that we were being IGNORED. We noticed our server peer from the inside of the restaurant towards our table — but he never came towards our table to tend to us (please check the CCTV from inside the restaurant to confirm these actions). Moments later, the main courses arrived via our server. Once plated, he proclaimed to the table “I noticed that you buzzed from inside, is everything okay?”. This was absolutely infuriating. If our server noticed that we buzzed from inside as they said (reminder: 3 times), then why did he not come towards our table the first time, or the second time or the third time we buzzed to see what it was that we needed? He was reminded that the bread we ordered had not arrived and that we would really have liked a second round of drinks. It is only now that I document this turn of events in full that I realise just how poor this is!

The food was decent. Not amazing, just okay, but the poor level of service was a big let down. The cherry on the top of the cake was when we finished our meals. We were not offered dessert menus. Having simply had enough energy sapped and wanting to leave, I walked inside to pay where I found our server wandering aimlessly around the restaurant. Again, trying to look busy. This guy was not busy at all. He was pretending to be busy. When I asked for the bill, I confirmed with him that the bread which we had ordered but not delivered was not to be charged. He then prompted me for a tip (lol) to which I replied that I would not be giving one now, but we may leave some cash on the table. It was at this point, that this employee disgustingly turned to a colleague and spoke in Croatian something along the lines of “no tip”. Once again, please check the CCTV from inside the restaurant to confirm these actions (Any camera facing away from the main entrance to the toilets will have captured this). As someone who has worked in hospitality, I do not take negative reviews lightly, however this one was wholly and truly necessary!!

I hope that this detailed account of events will prompt...

It is not the same day review, but couple days I just needed to recover after diner here. Read a lot of good reviews and decided to give a try. So it was the most expensive dinner in Split, but could not say the best, I had much better for less further more it the most memorable as on the next and last day in Croatia I've had to spend in the hotel room in toilet with food poisoning (diarrhea and vomiting). Why I decided it is that restaurant, because that day,-because of a lot of traveling we were not eating since the breakfast, breakfast in other restaurant was quite simple - baked eggs, and no other food since that. Everything started in the late morning after dinner.

I do not remember the menu exactly but it was special of the day market fish, but it was raw (as the waiter explained that is carpacho, but there were two pieces of raw fish, not carpaco), for me taste was not so bad, but my wife disliked it at first try, the second meal were mussels, a little bit salty, but seemed ok. My wife eat bruschetta, in general not bad, but the basis was so hard, the wife was struggling to cut it, and for the next meal one of the risottos (with pawn), so it has some kind of the aftertaste which was tasteless, and was not eaten. I cannot say something bad about the waiters, but could not explain in english what kind if dish do they offer, they were quite fast, so the low rating is not for them, but for those who did not comply healthy food management. Also annoying thing was cocktail bar loud music and live music in the restaurant, I understand there were different bars, but ... when one air hears disco another violent its not nice. So that was my and my...

Over the course of the last few months, I spent hundreds of euros here dining with my family.

On the last occasion, I arrived myself. At that moment, the restaurant began serving lunch. However, they still had some breakfast items on the menu, mixed with some other offerings (I.e., Eggs Benedict and charcuterie).

Upon entering, I did not feel welcome, yet not many people were there. The service was uninspiring and had me excited to leave. I may have touched a nerve asking for just one of the items on the three-person offering, or whatever it is. Additionally, I speak fluent Croatian, yet kept getting pushed back to English.

Food came out. Eggs Benedict drenched. Muffin not done up. Literally from bag to plate.

It’s the last experience that matters for me. Maybe server was not having a good day. I don’t know. Doesn’t matter. I’ll never come back because that was the first time I took a closer look at the bill and was baffled. A large coffee cost me...

Simply delicious – a true gem in Split. It’s hard to even begin describing this place because there wasn’t a single thing I didn’t love. From the very first bite – the bread, the appetizers – you can immediately tell the quality and care that goes into the kitchen. Without a doubt, the Lamb Shank was the best I’ve ever had in the world. Perfectly cooked, marinated in a rich fruit and lentil sauce that melts in your mouth – a dish that would impress even the most refined palate. The appetizer platter was exquisite, the pasta cooked to perfection. And when every course is this excellent, it becomes a must to try the dessert menu – which did not disappoint. We ended the night with two of their top desserts, and the apple tart was simply unforgettable. The service was just as remarkable – every team member was professional, kind, and welcoming, always with a genuine smile. Choosing this place was hands down one of the best decisions of our entire visit to Split.

My experience was about average here for the price we paid. The service was quick and from observation large groups can be accommodated easily. Attempted to make lunch reservations online but didn't get a written response via email. However, managed to walk over (around 12:30) and got seated immediately. Downside is that even though there were a handful of open (four seats) tables near misters or fans, we got seated (two seat table) between two fans that somehow didn't give us a breeze. The menus for lunch and drinks had a decent selection. For lunch we ordered the seabass and chicken breast dishes. As far as drinks went we had a glass of rosé and moscato. The presentation of food was contemporary, but lacked a bit in flavor. Overall, I would give this place another try but maybe for breakfast.
