Cons Entrees Time Atmosphere Service
We arrived at 11pm, they close at 12 but we assumed an hour was a safe amount of time to eat, we were wrong.
Seated quickly and put an order in for drinks, appetizers, and entrees within 10 minutes of arriving. Wine came out quickly, as noted above was delicious.
Appetizer platter came out ~20-25 minutes after ordering. Everything on it was delicious, shrimp pate, bruschetta, and a thinly sliced octopus dish.
After finishing the appetizer plate we waited for an uncomfortable 20 minutes during which we were subjected to sped up (not quite club) remixes of popular songs, Ed Sheeran, Linkin Park, and The Weeknd. It felt like a caffeinated H&M.
The entrees arrived ~12:05 and were disappointing, the burger was overcooked with a rock hard stale bun. Fries were good but overly salty. We ate while the staff tidied up and left as quickly as possible.
Total was 380 kuna, so definitely reasonable for a high end restaurant. We were just seriously let down in the slowness of dishes arriving and the quality of the entrees.
Obviously a part of this had to do with the restaurant closing, but a full hour is generally an appropriate amount time to eat a meal. I'd go elsewhere unfortunately. After the appetizer I really wanted to like this place,...
Read morePlease don't be put off by the unassuming entrance to this restaurant. As once you are through the dimly lit space off the alley, and up the 2 flights of stairs, a magical experience awaits you. This is a 5 star meal, with impeccable, professional service in a relaxed atmosphere. Attention is paid to every detail, from the crisp white tablecloths to the sea of green potplants lining the base of each window. The waiters are very attentive and do an excellent job of making sure you feel welcome, whilst also providing first class service. Then comes the food. WOW! We started with the Burrata Salad and Shrimp Pâté, followed by the Homemade Macaroni with House-smoked Ham and Truffle, as well as the Noodles with Shrimp, Porcini Mushrooms and Truffle. Every single dish was to die for! This food is better than some of the Michelin Star restaurants I have dined in over the years. Be sure to take your time and savour every bite as this blissful experience will be over before you know it. We finished with a perfectly made Caffè Latte and settled the incredibly reasonable bill. If you find yourself in Split, do yourself a favour and pay Apetit a visit. You...
Read moreI must say the food was good. But odd things occurred that made the dinner experience bad. In March, there are no crowds and restaurants are very slow. They wanted to know if we had reservations - we did not. We were then offered specific seating with Nikolaev setting and only a knife, a fork and a paper napkin. Other tables had proper place settings with 2 knives, forks and cloth napkin, what a restaurant generally has. We were told those are for people who have reservations 🙄. Same food with same price so it made no sense. When food came. We asked for a proper setting as it’s not a fast food joint. We were told we have the paper napkins and forks. After insisting we need to dine properly we were given the settings. Then 3 other set of people came with no reservations and they were all seated anywhere they wanted and tables and proper formal settings. They did not have reservations as they provided no names to be checked in the book. Lastly, all tables were offered a bread basket. We were neither offered to he same nor told that it is an option. The whole experience seemed odd and wrong. We will not return. Half the...
